Conservatism Wrong for America’s Future

Limbaugh (2)

Rush Limbaugh supports Ted Cruz; no surprise there. They are both extremists and hate the ideal of America. They spread fear and hatred instead of hope and compassion for their fellow man. Limbaugh praises Cruz for being a ‘true conservative.’ That is not a compliment. In reality, Cruz is a ‘reactionary.’ Reactionaries oppose political and social change, both of which are mandatory if our nation is to become great once again.

The real conservative on the Republican side is John Kasich. He speaks about the issues, and promises to work across the aisle to accomplish change needed in our nation. A true conservative stresses personal responsibility and traditional values and opposes dependence on government for social services. This is the balance needed in Washington. Our government only works when the parties deliberate the issues and find a compromise which works for everyone.

The GOP candidates stress the importance of being a conservative, but foolishly often claim that some are not ‘conservative enough.’ To the presidential wannabees, conservative describes a candidate who has moved to the extreme right and has only negative ideas for the destruction of our nation.

Overall, both parties have moved too far to the left and right. America only succeeds when moderates control our government. Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Barrack Obama can be labeled moderates. Their efforts with the opposition party moved our nation towards a positive approach for the future.

Republicans claim that Bernie Sanders is an extremist; they are completely mistaken. He is advocating a return to the America which worked for all of the nation’s people, not just the one-percent.

From the 1960’s until 2007 income for the middle class rose steadily. Between 2007 and 2011 it declined and has yet to experience a recovery. The result is a diminishing middle class, an increase in the wealthiest Americans, and a growing number of Americans living at or below the poverty level. Sanders is a moderate who believes in the American way of life.

Limbaugh, in praise of Cruz, denounced other GOP candidates and claimed that they were not Republicans. He is in denial of what the Republican Party once stood for, and its true value to our nation; conservative extremists, representing special interests, are destroying America.

“Then you’ve got Kasich out there saying that he’s further to the left of Hillary Clinton. Then you’ve got Christie running around doing what he’s doing,” Limbaugh said. “All three of these guys try to make themselves look like the biggest squish moderates you have ever seen. They’re certainly trying to make themselves not look like they are Republicans.”

Rush Limbaugh and his cronies are the problem in America. They want to change our nation in a very negative fashion. He is divisive and intends to create a plutocracy as our nation’s political system.

Ted Cruz would not satisfy the definition of ‘president.’ Our president must represent all of the nation’s people. Cruz would only support the wealthy and other extremists who would deny other rights guaranteed under the Constitution while claiming to be Christian.

If the primary in New Hampshire sent America a message it is simple; our elected officials do not listen to or represent the majority of the American people. Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are the leaders of the revolution.
