Limbaugh Claims Cruz Mirrors Reagan

There is no question that Rush Limbaugh is certifiably insane, but today he may have made the most outrageous comment of his sordid career.

“And then I expanded on it. Let me say one [thing]: if conservatism is your bag, if conservatism is the dominating factor in how you vote, there is no other choice for you in this campaign than Ted Cruz because you are exactly– this is the closest in our lifetimes we have ever been to Ronald Reagan,” Limbaugh insisted. “In terms of doctrinaire, understandable, articulated, implementable conservatism, there’s nobody closer.” Really?

Ronald Reagan’s own daughter claims that her father would be ashamed of all of the GOP candidates today. Looking at past great Republicans, and comparing them to extremist TEA Party leader Ted Cruz, the only trait these men share is that they campaigned under the same party name.

The facts are that Reagan would be considered a moderate Republican, or even a Democrat according to the history of his presidency. He lowered taxes; raised taxes, and left the nation three trillion dollars in debt when he left office.

Ronald Reagan surrounded himself with talented diplomats; Cruz is the reason our government is broken; his philosophy is; ‘say no to everything,’ while never compromising with Democrats.

In his first term, many Democrats supported Reagan. All Democrats and most Republicans literally hate Cruz and are aware that he cannot be trusted with the leadership of the free world.

Reagan gave Amnesty to millions of undocumented workers. Cruz wants to keep them in a condition of servitude.

Reagan was involved in accomplishing a nuclear treaty with the Soviet Union. Cruz seeks to destroy a similar agreement with Iran, although Reagan’s chief negotiator claims that it is a ‘very good deal for the United States.’ Reagan was also instrumental in ending the ‘Cold War.’ Cruz would once again invade Iraq and also Syria.

There is one similarity between Reagan and Cruz. When Reagan left office the unemployment rate was 10.8 percent. Under Cruz, it would likely be higher, based on his denial of income inequality.

Finally, a personal note: “I voted for Reagan, Rush, and Cruz is no Reagan.”
