Jeb Bush has made an interesting decision; he is going to have his older and smarter brother campaign for him. I understand his desperation, but does Jeb believe that the American people do not remember the worst president in America’s history?
First he brought Barbara Bush to the campaign trail; and that was okay. She is loved by most of America, and the fact that she once said that there had ‘been enough Bush’s in the White House,’ her renewed support for her son was understandable. But “W?”
I was watching ‘CBS This Morning’ earlier today. The man most responsible for the failures of the GOP in the past seven years, Reince Priebus, the Chairman of the Republican Party, made an appearance on the broadcast. He claimed that the six remaining presidential candidates offered by the GOP are ‘thoroughbreds.’ Really? This is the most unqualified and embarrassing group ever offered in my lifetime. Some of them make Sarah Palin appear to have been a great choice by John McCain.
So, I have to ask: “What did you do Jeb? Did you wake up one morning and say, ‘hell, I’m so far down in the polls, what the hell, I’ll have George take some of the heat when I lose?’”
I have to tell you the truth, Jeb; you lost any chance when you praised your brother’s administration at the same time your father was denouncing parts of it in his biography. Then when you promised to use most of the same policies as George, America joined your mother and said ‘no more Bush’s.’
One last thing; if you ask Dick Cheney to campaign for you, you’d better find a new country in which to live. That’s going too far.
