I’m beginning to think that Marco Rubio is not very bright. He is beginning to sound more like George W. Bush than has brother Jeb Bush.
Rubio is stumping in South Carolina. He is losing badly in the polls and has resorted to attacking everyone about everything. The problem is with what he is saying. Every slanderous statement he makes about Trump, Cruz, or Bush can be applied to the inexperienced Senator from Florida.
Rubio says that none of his competitors have sufficient experience regarding national security. Okay, that’s undeniable, but what experience related to national security or anything else does Rubio possess. Both he and his strongest supporters have been asked about the young Senator’s greatest accomplishments; none were offered. For one thing, he isn’t performing his job 40 percent of the time. Criticizing others for his own weaknesses seems Bush-like to me; it’s not the wisest path to take.
Only three other candidates have a chance to make headlines in South Carolina, and they are all using but a single tactic; attack, attack, attack.
Cruz says that Trump is not ‘conservative enough.’ In plain English, he is not as extreme as Cruz and might actually negotiate and compromise with Democrats. This is a sin among the TEA Party darlings. Trump’s very reason for his popularity is that Republican voters are fed up with those in their party who are too conservative, and have destroyed our political system.
Cruz is once again counting on evangelicals and TEA Party supporters as he did in Iowa. Trump is gaining momentum with a huge win in New Hampshire and continues to ‘name call’ his opponents.
Rubio is desperate; anything less than a second place win in South Carolina will likely signal a separation between him and his dwindling number of supporters. Bush is so fearful that he is attacking Kasich, the only credible candidate behind him in the polls.
None of these men are wise enough to know that if you attack someone, be certain that whatever you say about them cannot be said about you. None of these sad GOP offerings has a single accomplishment to be proud of in the political arena with the exception of Kasich, who is the standing Governor of Ohio.
With every passing day it becomes more evident that what the GOP has offered America for 2016 is pure garbage. Donald Trump continues to be the only candidate who speaks about the issues, although he has failed to offer a single viable solution.
Trump is a farce; Cruz is so far to the right that he is always wrong; Rubio is but a small child who wants to be accepted by the grown-ups; and Bush is, well, he’s a Bush.
Cheer up my Republican friends. This disgusting and embarrassing situation may result in a return of the real Grand Old Party. The TEA Party has been exposed. If you’re lucky, after this debacle of an election season, some elected officials similar to an early Reagan, a George H.W. Bush, and maybe even a reincarnation of Teddy Roosevelt will return to lead the Republican Party back to its former greatness. If you vote intelligently, and forgo emotion, that is a possibility.
