Trump Tweets the Truth and Republicans Hate It

Ignorance breed ignorance

Donald Trump must accept the criticism of Rush Limbaugh and Ted Cruz as an honor. These two radical TEA Party supporters claim that he is ‘not conservative enough.’ In plain English, that means that he is not an extremist, and might actually understand how the American political system is intended to function.

The one thing that we can guarantee when speaking about Trump is that he will fight back when he is attacked. The GOP should be fearful when he does because he is not afraid to speak the truth.

Here’s the latest tweet by ‘the Donald.’

“Remember, it was the Republican Party, with the help of Conservatives, that made so many promises to their base, BUT DIDN’T KEEP THEM! Hi DT.”

I haven’t forgotten that after the 2012 election, Reince Priebus promised changes in the Republican Party. He said that if his party was going to win elections, they would have to appeal to other demographics. Specifically, he mentioned Hispanics, blacks, and women.

Here we are in 2016 and nothing has changed. The fact is that it has become far worse. Under the leadership of the TEA Party, it has become more extreme, more supportive of the one-percent, and has expressed complete disregard for minorities and women. The label ‘conservative’ has become a mantra for how our government has been destroyed.

Both parties must become more moderate; this is the only time when our government works. Past Republican leaders were successful because both parties deliberated the issues and found compromise which positively affected all of the American people, and this includes Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.

Of course, Rush Limbaugh chimed in on Trump’s tweet.

“Some people are gonna say: “See? Trump is now so in the driver’s seat he feels free to come forward and admit that he’s not a conservative and it’s actually conservatives that screwed everything up.”

The truth is that pure conservatism cannot work in the United States. In a democracy government has a role, and that role is to insure that all Americans receive equal rights and equal opportunity under the Constitution.

The real problem is that far too many members of the GOP have become reactionaries, a step much too far to the right. Reactionaries are opposed to change and new ideas. They seek a move backwards instead of forwards. While the other developed nations are moving into the 21st century with new ideas, they want to destroy all of the advances made for the majority in the last 60 years.

Our government would not be in gridlock if the Republican Party had effective leadership in the past seven years. The failures of Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and Reince Priebus have presented us with Donald Trump and the most extreme of all presidential wannabees, Ted Cruz. It has not offered us a John McCain, or a Mitt Romney. Bluntly put, this year’s candidates are garbage; not one of them is qualified to lead a girl scout troop.

When Trump is right, I will tell it. Don’t expect the major media to say the same; they, like the Republican Party, don’t like the truth.
