Appearing on CBS This Morning, Jeb Bush proved to the nation that electing him would be reelecting his brother George. He looked into the camera and lied, just as Bush 43 did to Congress and the American people.
He was invited to the morning news show to defend his decision to ask George to campaign for him in South Carolina, one of the few states which continues to have a favorable view of the worst president in our nation’s history.
In the last few months not only has proof been offered that Bush and Cheney ignored the intelligence regarding the absence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, they also disregarded a direct warning of a probable attack on our nation prior to 9/11.
The FBI and CIA asked for an emergency meeting prior to the attacks on September 11th. They did not merely say that there was a possibility of an attack on American soil, they told Bush and Cheney that it was ‘imminent.’ Both Bush and Cheney ignored their advice and proceeded to take vacations.
We cannot afford to have another Bush in the White House. The destruction of our nation in eight years of a failed administration cannot be repeated.
Fortunately, Bush is so far down in the polls, it is highly unlikely that $100 million in campaign spending or the assistance of his family can rekindle a failed campaign.
Jeb Bush has revealed throughout his campaign that he would likely be an even worse president than his brother. I, like many others, once believed that he was the ‘smarter brother;’ now we know that we were fooled.
While George H.W. Bush will be remembered by most Americans as a good president, there is no reoccurrence of that belief in George W., and Jeb offers no hope of following in his father’s footsteps. The good news for the American people is that after the 2016 election in November, there will be ‘no more Bushes in the White House,’ ever.
