Marco Rubio: A Sad Tale of a Presidential Wannabee

Rubio

There is only one word to describe Marco Rubio accurately: Pitiful. During the ‘debates,’ he has continually proven that he cannot speak without a prepared script; another word comes to mind, sad. Joe Scarborough asked Rick Santorum what Rubio’s greatest accomplishments were in the Senate; he couldn’t name one, and neither can I.

In a new ad from his campaign team, he appears to idolize Ronald Reagan. First of all, if he knew American history, he would know that Reagan gave amnesty to millions of undocumented workers; was forced to raise taxes he had previously lowered; left the nation with a three-billion-dollar deficit; and when he left office the unemployment rate was 10.8 percent. Secondly, if he makes a commercial based on Reagan, he should try to get it right.

But poor Marco just can’t do anything with a high level of competency. The commercial was based on a famous ad run by Reagan in 1984. The announcer, sounding much like the Republican demagogue, says: “It’s morning again in America.” There’s only one ‘minor’ problem. The one-minute ad’s video containing a harbor with ships and cranes is not an American city; it is Vancouver B.C. Canada. A Canadian flag can be seen atop one of the boats.

It appears to me that Rubio’s true hero is George W. Bush. He, too, had problems with his intellect; ‘Bushisms’ are still some of the funniest one liners in American history.

The saddest truth is that this immature and inexperienced man wants to be your president. But he wouldn’t work too hard; he has already missed 40 percent of the votes in the Senate while he is attempting to win votes. He would likely break Bush’s record for vacation days, and when he is in the oval office, he will probably fail to work an eight-hour day; he needs his naps.
