Donald Trump has been consistent, whether he’s right or wrong. One statement he continually makes is the fact that no one likes Ted Cruz. That’s true and understandable; there’s nothing to like. He is the biggest obstructionist in government; fighting with both sides of the aisle.
Not a single member of Congress has endorsed Cruz. His closest friend is Senator Mike Lee from Utah. Cruz was pleased this week to see Senator Lee come to South Carolina and campaign for the junior Senator from Texas; but he didn’t receive his endorsement.
Lee was speaking at a Marco Rubio event and said: “I don’t know anyone in Washington who knows the Bible quite as well as Marco Rubio does.” I don’t know what that has to do with being qualified to be the president, but it was a form of praise from Lee.
Lee claims that he has not decided who he will support. If Lee follows his own pattern, he will support the front runner. On the day before the South Carolina primary, Cruz and Rubio are virtually tied for second place in the polls.
Cruz has added credence to the reasons why he is unlikable. He obviously cheated to win the Iowa caucus; twice. Now he has an ad attacking Rubio in which Rubio’s camp claims that the photo used was ‘photoshopped;’ his head was placed on another man’s body.
Cruz relies on the support of evangelicals to win elections. But the truth is that he is not a Christian. He doesn’t believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. He is the most judgmental of all of the TEA Party darlings, and will say anything to receive votes. He is filled with hate and prejudice. He believes in white supremacy and the inferiority of minorities and non-Christians.
Cruz also seeks the destruction of the Constitution; or at least the amendments he doesn’t like. He would institute Christianity as our national religion; violating the first amendment, and favoring his supporters. Cruz would continue the destruction of the fourth amendment. He would repeal the 14th amendment and deny equal protection under the law for all Americans. The 15th amendment, which protects the rights of all voters regardless of race, creed, or color would be under attack.
But he would strongly protect the second amendment; the NRA gun lobby contributes heavily to his campaign.
This is the real Ted Cruz, and the reasons why no one likes or trusts him. He has been a blight on our nation since his election to the Senate in 2012.
