After a dismal finish in a ‘Bush friendly’ state, Jeb finally pulled the plug on a pitiful and futile campaign. Although it was obvious months ago that he was way out of his league, he continued to waste millions of dollars in an attempt to obtain public housing.
About two hours after the results of the South Carolina primary were official, Bush released the following statement.
“I am proud of the campaign that we have run to unify our country and to advocate conservative solutions that would give more Americans the opportunity to rise up and reach their god given potential.” Even at the end he was far from eloquent.
Jeb’s older brother offered undeserved praise for a poorly run campaign. “W” issued the following statement.
“Jeb’s decision to suspend his campaign reflects his selfless character and patriotism. I was moved by Jeb’s concession speech. Laura and I are proud of Jeb and Columba for the character and class they through to this important campaign.”
So, let’s make this clear; Republican outsiders two, and mainstream members of the GOP one. But Rubio was once again in third place, and the leaders of the Republican Party are drowning their sorrows this evening.
When the final tally from South Carolina is in, Bush will have finished in fourth or fifth place, far behind the front three.
Now a final question: “Why are Kasich and Carson continuing to wage an impossible campaign? Why don’t they follow Bush and end the nightmare?
