Pharmaceutical Companies in Collusion with the FDA

Big Pharma

(After reading about two more popular drugs now in litigation, I decided that this needed to be re-posted. We have the right to know.)

Here’s another truth that the media won’t report; they receive millions of dollars in advertising from the most corrupt industry in the nation.

I and many others wrote about our disgust regarding Martin Shkreli when he raised the price of a life-saving drug from a few dollars to $750 per pill; and rightfully so. But he is not alone in his low-life action. Big-Pharma is guilty of making billions at your expense, and the FDA is helping them.

Here’s the way it works. The FDA approves hundreds of drugs each year. We’ve all seen them advertised incessantly. At the end of the ad they are required to list ‘possible side effects.’ Sometimes that ‘possibility’ includes death.

Now let’s skip to the future.

After the drug company has made billions of dollars from the sale of their poison, we discover that a class action lawsuit has been settled. The company agrees to pay a fixed amount of money to all those who can prove that they were harmed by the drug. One award I heard of today was over $600 million.

Sounds like a lot of money, but remember two things; the pharmaceutical company has already made billions from the sale of that drug, which I must remind you was approved by the FDA. Secondly, this award must be divided between thousands, if not millions of people.

Here is a list of some of the drugs you may be aware of, used yourself, know someone who used them, or simply remember the ad.

Here are a few of the better known drugs currently involved in litigation: Invokana, Hip Replacements, Lipitor, Propecia, Risperdal, Transvaginal Mesh, and Xarelto.

These Drugs have reached a settlement in court: Avandia, Chantix, Depakote, Darvon, Ephedra, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Ortho Evra Birth Control, Pradaxa, and Yaz; there are many more.

That is only 15 of many.

I have no way of knowing the profits made by the pharmaceutical companies before they were forced into court, but let’s use a small number such as $2 billion each. That’s $30 billion.

If they were forced to pay a high figure of $500 million after litigation, that would give the drug companies a profit of $22.5 billion.

It is obvious that these disreputable companies care little about a lawsuit costing millions, when they have already profited billions.

My question is why is a government agency created to protect the American people protecting the large pharmaceutical companies? Should the FDA be investigated?

Here’s another example which brings into question the integrity of the FDA. Monsanto is the nation’s largest manufacturer of GMOs. More than 60 nations around the world have banned or regulated the use of GMOs in the manufacture of food products, including nearly all of Europe, Japan, and Australia. Their nation’s scientists have determined that they are dangerous to human health over time.

The FDA disagrees because testing indicated that they were safe. Who performed the tests? Monsanto.

This is not something which I have witnessed in the major media. Once again this is protection of big business over the safety and health of the American people,

I believe this is an outrage.
