Was Kasich’s Action Against Planned Parenthood Political?

Ohio's Kasich

Ohio Governor John Kasich has been the only ‘voice of reason’ throughout nine Republican faux-debates. Although he came in second in the New Hampshire Primary, it is highly doubtful that he will finish higher than fourth in future voting events.

Recently he made the decision to defund Planned Parenthood in Ohio. He has joined his fellow misogynists in the war against women.

Planned Parenthood has aided poor women with reproductive problems for decades. None of the federal funds are used for abortion, which is not its primary purpose. Tens of thousands of women have received medical care otherwise not available to them. Reality didn’t stop Kasich from removing $1.3 million from funding for the organization which charges little or nothing for its services.

Was this a political move? Kasich has been criticized for being a moderate and ‘not far enough to the right.’ Is his choice a desperate effort to remain in the race for the 2016 nomination?

If that’s the truth, then my opinion of Kasich has been greatly altered. He appeared to be the only candidate who was a man of principle.

The Republican Party will never be favored by the majority until it changes; it must represent the majority, and ignore special interests, and it must place people before profit and religious interference.

The people of our nation have changed their attitudes to align themselves with the rest of the developed nations. It is time for the Republican Party to join them and change their positions about same-sex marriage, women’s rights, immigration reform, minorities, and abortion.

Our legislators take an oath to support the American people; we are not supposed to serve them.
