Immediately after President Obama was elected to his first term in 2008, Republicans began attempts to prevent Hillary Clinton from becoming his successor. Every situation was blown out of proportion, and any innuendo was claimed to be the truth. She has done nothing dissimilar to other politicians, but the right wing’s fear of her winning the White House has only been surpassed by its obstruction of the President’s efforts to move our nation forward.
Multiple efforts were made to disgrace Ms. Clinton regarding the tragedy which occurred in Benghazi, and nothing was discovered, although Republicans wasted millions of taxpayer dollars in their attempts. Her personal e-mails continue to be heavily scrutinized. Ms. Clinton admits that she made mistakes, but there was no criminal intent.
Meanwhile the three leading GOP presidential candidates continue to attack Ms. Clinton. In fact, this is all they do; attack the President, Hillary Clinton, and each other.
Wednesday Black Lives Matter activist Ashley Williams confronted Ms. Clinton at a rally in South Carolina. Her complaint concerned a law passed during her husband’s term of office which resulted in the incarceration of many black men and women. Ms. Clinton has called for a complete reform of the Criminal Justice System, unlike her Republican opponents who believe the status quo is acceptable.
Ms. Clinton did not back down from the angry attack from Ms. Williams, although there was no resolution, and her angry protest forced security to remove her from the fund raiser.
The right wing immediately used the incident to attack Ms. Clinton and made the following statement, which is entirely fallacious.
“The ‘Stop Hillary’ campaign is on fire! Join the surging response to this theme: ‘Clinton for prosecution, not president.’”
How desperate they are becoming, especially now that she has no opposition from the horrible choice of presidential candidates offered by the GOP.
Ms. Clinton continues to make jokes about Republican efforts to derail her run for the presidency. And she should. Most of its efforts are misdirection which prevents close scrutiny of the ‘party of no’ and the lies they continue to tell the American people.
