Less than a year ago Donald Trump declared his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the presidency. Many, myself included, believed it was merely a publicity stunt. We scoffed and even laughed. No one is laughing today, in fact it’s just the opposite, he is receiving endorsements from notables, and his opponents are shaking as their own hopes are becoming dust in the wind.
When Chris Christie announced that he was endorsing Trump, there was a ‘disturbance in the force.’ Mainstream Republicans felt their teeth chattering as they began to sweat. Ted Cruz suddenly realized that if he doesn’t win in his home state of Texas, or if Trump finishes a close second, his campaign is over.
Marco Rubio, who is behind Trump in the polls in Florida may already be a forgotten contestant.
Trump received another endorsement, this one from Maine Governor Paul LePage. LePage was a Christie supporter and joined the Governor of New Jersey in his support for ‘the Donald.’
In desperate attempts to keep their campaigns alive, Cruz and Rubio are attacking Trump on every front, unless it involves the issues important to the American people.
Cruz added that standing on the debate stage next to Trump, he has had to fight what he called the “incredible urge just to reach over and ruffle his hair.” Really? His hair? Is that presidential?
Rubio is also making his attacks personal.
“That’s why there’s a sense of urgency about it. Because the Republican Party and the conservative movement could fall into the hands of someone who has basically conned a significant number of Americans into believing he’s someone he’s not,” Rubio told reporters. And who are you Mr. Rubio?
Here’s the truth. They are all making claims that their opponents lack qualifications to be the President of the United States; and they are all 100 percent correct. None of the three leading candidates is fit to live in the White House.
With each win in the primaries, and as the endorsements continue to come, Trump is separating himself from his two TEA Party adversaries.
Trump is leading in eight of the eleven states who will be voting on Super Tuesday. If the polls are correct, the race for the Republican nomination will only involve one person on Wednesday morning.
It matters little if Trump wins the presidency; his greatest gift to America will be the revamping of the Republican Party. Hopefully Mitch McConnell will lose his power. The TEA Party will be exposed for its extremism and the primary factor why our government is in gridlock.
Reince Priebus will be fired from his position as Chairman of the Republican National Committee. His failure to lead the party will no longer be ignored.
Maybe FOX Noise will finally lose its ability to brainwash Republican supporters. The right wing propaganda machine will have lost its power over its uninformed viewers.
Personally, I can’t wait for Tuesday. Although I was one of many who lambasted Trump months ago, I am now cheering for his success. America needs drastic changes, and Trump may be the unintended catalyst.
The voting public is expressing its displeasure with our government, and Trump has exposed this fact as the electorate rejects mistakenly elected officials who have failed to perform in Washington.
