When an incident occurred in Southern California Saturday which was a result of the Ku Klux Klan planning a demonstration, why was it not labeled an ‘incident of terrorist action?’ While politicians display concern about ISIS and al-Qaeda in the Middle East, no one appears concerned about homegrown terrorists.
When the hate group arrived, protesters challenged the hate group. In the melee, three people were stabbed; one with a flagpole who is in critical condition.
The KKK would claim that they planned a ‘peaceful protest.’ There is nothing peaceful when a group is spreading hatred and seeking violence against one group of Americans. This is the definition of a terrorist; tell me if this fits the white supremacist group.
“Someone who uses violent action, or threats of violent action, for political purposes.”
With racism on the rise in our nation, thanks to some of the presidential candidates, we cannot allow this to be aided by a hate group. If any American previously believed that racism was no longer a serious problem in our nation, that person has been living in denial.
Until recently, when racism and bigotry were openly expressed, it existed, but in a covert manner. Sadly, this ‘disease’ is encouraged by politicians who will say and do anything to acquire votes.
The entire right wing of our political system denies that racism is flourishing in America, or that blacks are treated differently by law enforcement than whites. Get your head out of the sand, my fellow Americans. This is a growing problem and must be addressed if you believe in the ideal of America, and the law of the land; the Constitution.
There must cease to be a ‘red state,’ or a ‘blue state;’ or a ‘white America,’ or ‘black America.’ We must once again become the United States of America; a nation I was proud of as I grew up between its shores.
The use of fear tactics by our government must no longer be allowed. The use of emotional warfare has destroyed a once great nation.
