I have always believed that regular viewers of FOX Noise are either naturally ignorant or simply choose to be. Bill O’Reilly has been the entertainment network’s most popular fake journalist for years, although he is neither an entertainer or an actual reporter.
O’Reilly has been exposed several times for his falsified books, his lies during broadcasts, sexual harassment, and now domestic violence; the same things he has often directed towards others. He is a critic of Black Lives Matter, claiming that law enforcement is ‘fair and unbiased.’ His unfair criticism of President Obama and Hillary Clinton, while defending every right wing person in the nation, has cemented the truth; FOX is a Republican propaganda machine, and nothing more.
Although O’Reilly greatly exaggerated the stories in his books and the tales he told about writing them, he has been allowed to stay on-air, unlike Brian Williams who misspoke about a single incident on NBC. But FOX doesn’t care about the truth; it cares about ratings; and O’Reilly is not a real journalist.
In 2004 O’Reilly was sued for sexual harassment by a former producer named Andrea Mackris. She was asking $60,000,000 in damages for a situation which began in May 2002, and continued until September, 2004.
O’Reilly countersued for what he claimed was extortion. The lawsuit was settled out of court for a sum reported to be in the millions.
Mackris produced a 22-page document as well as audio recordings reported to be a solicitation of phone sex from O’Reilly. In May, 2002, Mackris was informed that her position with FOX had been terminated; her salary was $56,000 per year. O’Reilly made his move. The entertainer invited her to dinner, where he informed her that she was re-hired and was given a raise to $65,000 a year. This turned out to be a move towards sexual exploitation by O’Reilly.
Here is a small segment from the original court transcripts of Ms. Mackris’ testimony.
“And just use your vibrator to blow off steam.” When Mackris appeared shocked, O’Reilly continued:
“What, you’ve got a vibrator, don’t you? Every girl does.”
He then told Mackris that he had advised another woman to purchase a vibrator, and that she had her first orgasm as she masturbated while having phone sex with him.
When Mackris informed O’Reilly that she didn’t engage in phone sex, he proceeded to tell her about his sexual escapades including an incident in Bali while he was receiving a massage. He said: “A little short brown woman” asked to see his penis, and “was amazed.”
This is the man many of his loyal viewers admire.
His latest difficulty involves his teenage children. They had been living with O’Reilly until he was ordered to court for a new custody hearing. He was accused of domestic violence by his 17-year-old daughter. She told investigators that she witnessed O’Reilly ‘drag her mother down the stairs by her throat.’ She and her 13-year-old brother petitioned the court to be allowed to live with their mother.
The court agreed, but O’Reilly appealed. The four justices offered a 1,400-word opinion in favor of Maureen McPhilmy, O’Reilly’s ex-wife. The summary said that their decision was based on “the clearly stated preferences of the children” and the “quality of the home environment provided by the mother”.
Bill doesn’t do well in the court system; his falsehoods cannot be hidden from those in the judiciary.
How much longer will his ‘fans’ continue to support this ingenuous and vile man?
