Romney is not a Republican Leader and Should Shut Up

Romney

This conspiracy to derail Donald Trump is totally ridiculous. I didn’t see this kind of outrage when John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, and she had half of the intellect of Trump.

Yesterday Mitt Romney made a complete fool of himself as he not only added a larger rift in the Republican Party, but strengthened Trump’s position.

Two Republican reactionaries, who are on the fringe of insanity, surprisingly lambasted Romney for his outrageous speech.

Right wingnuts Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham denounced the failed presidential candidate. By their words it is obvious that they both see the ‘handwriting on the wall;’ the end of today’s Republican Party is near.

Rush: “The way this is going to be heard is, ‘Why are you trying to destroy your own base, over and over again?'” Limbaugh said on his nationally syndicated radio show after Romney’s speech. “‘Why are you rejecting the majority of people in your own party and their expressed desires and wishes? Why are you continually ignoring and trying to thwart the will of your voters?'”

Ingraham: “Because the people who lost this country, who couldn’t beat Obama, and were part of the party establishment that destroyed much of what we love about America, and put us in this debt, and got us in these wars, and messed up our trade policy, and couldn’t stand up to President Obama – those people are now projecting their guilt and blame on Trump?”

Even the political blog ‘Breitbart’ chimed in: “Mount Romney is the hill they’ve chosen to die on.”

The fact is that the GOP is broken beyond repair. The right wing can blame it on many things, but Trump is not one of them.

It began with the Bush Administration which adopted strategies of fear, hatred, and the political tactic of attack, attack, attack. When the TEA Party infiltrated the GOP in 2010, and Republicans were left without strong leadership, the doomsday clock began to tick.

With all the conversation and media coverage centered around Donald Trump, the right wing is ignoring the truth. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are nearly as obnoxious as Trump. When the Republican establishment ordered Rubio to ‘smear’ Trump, he performed so badly that his audience was embarrassed for him. Cruz is a liar and a cheat, and is the most destructive member of the TEA Party.

George W. Bush promised to be a “uniter, not a divider.” When he left the White House our nation was more divided than at any other time since the Civil War. Cruz claims that he will unite the Republican Party. Really? He is disliked by every member of Congress and has not received a single endorsement.

The Republican hierarchy can only blame themselves for this debacle. Not a single viable candidate was offered to the voting public, and when Trump decided to enter the campaign, the opportunity presented itself to let GOP leadership know how they feel about those who are supposed to serve them in Washington.

They have spoken loudly as defined by the polls which reveal that Trump’s voters are the largest in number and the highest in volume in the nation.
