Those actually holding office, or have positions of leadership in the Republican Party, continue to ignore the reality of Donald Trump. GOP voters don’t like you; they don’t trust you, and they are angry.
Ted Cruz has the same problems, but his also include his relationship with his constituents in the Senate. They just don’t like him. Maybe it’s because he was not only been an obstructionist when Democrats offered proposals, he performed the same opposition to many in his own party.
In an effort to derail Trump, 14 GOP Senators have endorsed Marco Rubio; Trump and Kasich have received one each; Cruz has zero.
With the exception of evangelicals, Cruz has no support. If Michigan and Mississippi are significant, he is losing support from them as well.
Cruz is the leader of the TEA Party and has been the most destructive member of the Senate since taking office in 2013. His first effort was to shut down our government. Just last year he attempted to do the same in an attempt to defund Planned Parenthood. He has not participated in a single positive effort for the American people.
Religious extremists have supported Cruz in the past, but the Senator has denied true Christianity and the teachings of Jesus Christ. He has spread fear and anger, and supports hatred for anyone who defends abortion or the rights of the LGBT community.
Today it appears that the race for the Republican nomination is now a two-man contest. Cruz trails Trump in every poll, and would lose in the general election to either Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton.
