If there is one thing above all others which angers me about the media in the United States, it is its complete failure to be honest with the American people. The fourth estate has become politically correct. FOX is not the only network which lies to the American people. Whether it be the use of blatant falsehoods, or lies by omission, all network and cable news programs fail to completely inform the American people.
My purpose is to always tell the truth, whether anyone likes it or not. I refuse to praise those who don’t deserve adulation, and I will berate those who the media are afraid to criticize. History will not be changed, and the facts will be revealed.
I am angry that some of the media allows the opinions of past politicians who not only failed the American people, but also committed criminal actions to be heard today. Newt Gingrich was forced out of office by his own party for criminal actions. He used his position to attain enormous wealth. In addition, he had an open affair while his wife was on her deathbed suffering from terminal cancer. He should crawl under a rock and leave America to Americans.
What hasn’t been said about Dick Cheney? George W. Bush’s puppet master is the most evil man in America. He was the reason Bush ignored the warnings of our intelligence services before the attacks on 9/11. He was the architect of the war in Iraq. Its primary purpose was to increase his personal wealth and of others who were invested in the military industrial complex. Cheney instituted the use of torture, although history has repeatedly proven that it is entirely ineffective. His lies are one of the reasons our nation is divided.
When Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia passed away, praise for his service and ability filled the airwaves. This may have been the most hypocritical display of admiration I have ever seen. Scalia was as far to the right as Rush Limbaugh. He supported the conservative position on every issue during his tenure. Never once did he vote in favor of the working class or women. He led the fight for Citizens United, and began the destruction of our political system. He harmed not only the Constitution, but the majority of our nation’s people.
One of the major petitioners favoring Citizens United was the Koch brothers. Charles and David Koch do not believe in democracy. Their ultimate goal is to make our nation a plutocracy. They believe that profit is all important; the people be damned. Their creation of the TEA Party began the demise of the Republican Party. I am fed up with those on the right wing who claim that Donald Trump has destroyed the GOP; it began long ago under the direction of the Koch brothers. Trump is simply the result. They are the greatest destructors of our environment as the largest participants in the oil and gas industry.
Nancy Reagan was an impressive First Lady; but she accomplished nothing. Her “Just Say No” campaign against illegal drugs was a joke. Her only claim to fame is that she protected Ronald Reagan during his final two years in office when he had begun to suffer from Alzheimer’s. There is no doubt that she was in charge of her husband’s administration.
The invasion in Iraq was not only a criminal act, it has resulted in increased terrorism, and made the world less safe for everyone. Deposing Saddam Hussein completely destabilized the Middle East, and allowed the rise of ISIS and a growing civil war in Syria. Iran has become a greater power after the destruction of the Iraqi government. This small area is now the greatest danger to world peace. Many politicos believe that we are entering a new ‘cold war’ with Russia.
Finally, I am disgusted with every Republican alive. They refuse to recognize President Obama’s accomplishments. They continue to ignore public opinion. The destructive efforts of the Bush Administration happened over eight years. Six years after Mr. Obama took office, our nation was in recovery. His push for universal health care allowed millions of Americans to purchase insurance which was previously unaffordable. It’s not perfect, but Republicans should strive to improve it rather than destroy a public need. Our reputation in the world has been restored. Those who despised us for waging two illegal wars are once again our allies. Like Reagan did with the Soviet Union, under the President’s guidance we now have our first nuclear agreement with Iran. His policies of diplomacy first, instead of rash action, have kept us from entering into another unwinnable war.
That’s all for now, but if you want to hear the whole truth without ‘spin,’ you can read me every day; and I thank you.
