Throughout history there are stories of missed great love affairs. Whether it be Shakespeare, or playwrights such as Arthur Miller, Eugene O’Neil, or Tennessee Williams, matches ‘made in heaven’ often suffered insurmountable obstacles. So it is with Donald Trump and Sarah Palin.
Just imagine if they had met when they were both single. They have so much in common. They see the United States in a twisted way which offends most Americans, but they simply don’t care. They both make speeches which result in intelligent people saying; ‘huh.’
They both seek the attention of the media, although they continuously demean it. And neither of them has ever had one important thing to say which would interest or benefit the American people.
Palin attended a Trump rally on Monday, although her husband lay in a hospital bed with serious injuries from a snowmobile accident. She attempted to join ‘the Donald’ in denouncing the first amendment right of protestors who have exposed Trump.
“What we don’t have time for is all that petty punk ass little thuggery stuff that’s been going on with these quote-unquote protesters who are doing nothing but wasting your time,” Palin said at the rally. “And trying to take away your First Amendment rights, your rights to assemble peacefully, and the media being on the thug side.” Palin then directed her eye contact to the cameras. “What the heck are you guys thinking, media? It doesn’t make sense,” she said.
If you look up the word “dumb” in the dictionary, the first definition will be ‘Sarah Palin.’
She is a perfect example of a Trump supporter. They don’t care what is said, as long as it’s said loudly and with anger. They don’t care if Trump is qualified to lead our nation through critical years of international relations and domestic upheaval. His claim to fame is that he has never worked in government.
I question their intelligence level. Are they living in an alternate universe where serious issues will not be faced on the new president’s first day in office? Do they believe that anyone could be the President of the United States, even if they lack experience and place their egos before logic?
Sarah Palin and Donald Trump are perfect examples of what is wrong with our nation. They are divisive, judgmental, sanctimonious, and fail the American people.
Sadly, the GOP has little to offer the majority of Americans today. They intentionally fail to represent the majority while supporting special interests. A vote for a Republican is a vote against yourself and your family; they just don’t care.
Today is slightly overrated in terms of the race for the presidency.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton will increase her delegate lead regardless of how well Bernie Sanders performs.
Only two states are in question on the Republican side, and a loss for Trump will do little harm to his campaign. Kasich currently leads in his home state of Ohio. Cruz is challenging Trump in Illinois. Trump appears to be firmly in control of Florida, North Carolina, and Missouri. As for Rubio; I wrote his epitaph long ago, but if you didn’t read it, here is the title:
“Rubio is Toast.”
