Ted Cruz Seeks Republican Support: An Apology Must Come First

Donald Jr.

If you have followed politics since 2012, you are well aware that the most destructive person in Washington has been Ted Cruz, and his un-American actions began immediately after he was sworn into the Senate in January of 2013.

In his first year in office, Cruz made two things evident; he had no concern for our government, and he discounted the American people. Cruz led the successful attempt to shut down our government, which resulted in grief for millions of our nation’s working men and women. The second fact was that he had no intention of completing his frist term in the Senate; the presidency was his only ambition.

When an individual has plans for their future, they must realize that the actions of the present can have positive or negative results in the coming years.

As it became evident that Cruz was the leader of the obstructionist TEA Party, enemies from both sides of the aisle emerged. He not only opposed all efforts by Democrats, he fought against reasonable attempts by real Republicans to pass legislation affecting all Americans.

An arrogant Cruz was the first to declare his candidacy for the White House on March 23, 2015. This was the earliest in history. Cruz miscalculated his potential for success; Donald Trump threw his hat in the ring a few months later. As Trump’s supporters grew in numbers, the entire Republican establishment began to ‘freak out.’

No one was more fearful than Cruz; his plans were in great jeopardy. Initially he refrained from attacking the party’s front runner, and even appeared to have a sort of ‘comradery.’ That didn’t last long. Soon he became desperate and joined in ‘Trump bashing.’

Today he is in the number two position; Trump remains the dominate Republican. When Rubio’s future was dashed on Tuesday, the GOP scrambled to find a candidate who could defeat Trump. The only Republican who has a possibility of derailing Trump is not a Republican, he is the leader of the extremist TEA Party.

Cruz is now begging for the support of the establishment; the same group he has consistently denounced. If it is offered, it will come with a price.

Senator Dan Coats of Indiana said, “If he’s asking someone for an endorsement from the United States Senate, I think he needs to go to that individual and explain what has changed since we were thrown under the bus.”

Elephants don’t forget. It will be difficult for Cruz to receive enthusiastic support from his constituents.

Regardless, the fact is that he cannot win. His only support has been from evangelicals within his own party. He failed to win a single primary last Tuesday. He offers nothing to the majority of voters, and has been assailed as a puppet of the one percent. He has led the war on women in his party, and would crush the hopes of nearly 12 million men and women who are in limbo. He would repeal every social program accomplished for the majority of Americans in the last 60 years. His Christian religious extremism would urge him to repeal the first amendment and establish his religion as our national religion.

No intelligent American, Republican or Democrat, and especially no Independent, could vote for Cruz with a clear conscience.
