A Promise Kept by McConnell’s Republicans: it’s not a Good Thing

McConnell

Mitch McConnell will be remembered in history as the worst leader in Republican history. Immediately after President Obama was sworn in on January 20, 2009, the ‘turtle’ promised not to do anything; he has kept that promise and continues to ignore the needs of the American people.

It’s not only the critical nomination to the Supreme Court which would prevent it from becoming dysfunctional, there are also 48 nominees pending including 33 district judges and six appeals court judges. Several of those nominees have been waiting more than a year for confirmation.

When McConnell promised to take taxpayers money for his paycheck and accept costly benefits, including the best healthcare available, and continue to do nothing, he meant it.

He just doesn’t get it; he and others like him are the reason for the success of Donald Trump. They would like us to believe that Trump is the culprit for the party’s dissolution, but the truth is that voters are angry with McConnell and his ilk.

In 2014 when Republicans captured control of the Senate, McConnell and Boehner stared right into the cameras and promised that now Congress would ‘get to work.’ Really? Do Republican legislators have second jobs at which they actually do something? They sure as hell aren’t doing the jobs for which they were elected.

On Friday, McConnell also refused to consider Obama’s nomination of Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Lisabeth Tabor Hughes to the Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

This is a woman from his home state, and has exceptional credentials.

These positions must be filled. To put it bluntly, Republicans must stop playing politics, and get off their lazy a**es and do their jobs.

McConnell is a blight on the American political system. He should be impeached and forced to work in his state’s coal mines.

Republicans seldom keep their promises, but this is one they have held close to their breasts. They have presided over the worst Congresses in history; this will be how they are remembered.
