Republican voters must receive the pity of Democrats and Independents. I have read how ashamed they are of the offerings of the GOP for the presidency, and with every passing day more damage is done to the Republican brand. The only two possibilities for the nomination are both radical extremists. Neither of them believes in the nation created by our founding fathers, and both lack the qualities and credentials to lead our nation forward.
Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are racists and bigots. To Trump’s resume misogynist can be added. Cruz can truthfully claim that he is a homophobe.
Both men have proven that they are Islamophobes, but Cruz is the most extreme.
Cruz appeared on “CBS This Morning” Wednesday. He advocates action by law enforcement to “patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods”. But when asked by Nora O’Donnell if he knew how many Muslims lived in the United States, he had no answer. He was no match for a real journalist, who, unlike FOX Noise, refused to ask him ‘softball’ questions. He was totally discredited.
Days before his appearance on CBS, he announced the appointment of his foreign policy advisor team. Included in this group are some of the most outspoken Islamophobes in the nation. These advisors claim that the Muslim brotherhood is recruiting jihadists from Muslim American citizens.
The Republican establishment now supports a Cruz nomination. Therefore, the Republican Party is now recognized as an entire party of Islamophobes. The hypocrites are driving the bus, and that bus is about to drive off of the cliff.
“This is more than worrying, it is terrifying,” said Nathan Lean, a specialist in Islamophobia at Georgetown University’s Bridge Institute. “Bringing such views into a presidential campaign inflames the anxieties of ordinary Americans and gives them license to amp up scrutiny and skepticism towards the Muslim community.”
Trump and Cruz would like to tear up the Constitution. Their beliefs are opposed to most of the Bill of Rights with the exception of the second amendment. They would remove our basic freedoms, and in their place force the American people to follow their beliefs. America would become a fascist nation, ruled by an unwise and arrogant dictator.
It matters little whether Trump or Cruz wins the GOP nomination. Both are radical extremists who would destroy what is left of a once great and revered nation. They have already destroyed the Republican Party; voters must not allow them to end what is the essence of the United States. Our nation was founded on the principles of individual freedoms, justice, and free choice. Neither Trump nor Cruz believe in those rights for all Americans. They support only whites, and they must be Christian, and disavow all other religions and races.
Hate would rule our nation; our people would never feel pride again.
