Benjamin Netanyahu is one of the most dangerous men in the world. His obvious efforts to seize all of the land in the Middle East now occupied by Palestinians will result in a never-ending conflict in the region.
Fortunately, he cannot live forever, a fact celebrated by Israel’s younger citizens.
More importantly, young Palestinians are voicing their anger, not only at the Israeli government, but also their own. They are demanding recognition from the world including the creation of a Palestinian State. They cannot be defeated; in another decade they will be the rulers of their nations.
Just recently Netanyahu authorized additional annexation of land in the Gaza strip. Vice-President Joe Biden criticized Israel’s Prime Minister. He pointed to the fact that no there can be no peace between Israelis and Palestinians if this ‘land grab’ continues.
Since 1948, the year Israel became a State, the United States has blindly supported the small nation. Netanyahu has used this support to achieve his own ambitions. He opposes a Palestinian State, and refuses to engage in an honest effort to achieve peace in the region.
Jews around the world stand together, and so do Muslims. Continued attacks against Palestinians have angered the Muslim world. Israel has carelessly participated in the growth of terrorism through its actions; much of it is aimed at supporters of Israel. Retired Israeli generals and military advisors have written letters to Netanyahu strongly suggesting a serious effort to find a peaceful solution between the residents of Israel and Palestine. They displayed their concern for their grandchildren; their hope is that they will not live in fear as have their fathers and mothers.
Netanyahu refuses to listen to his nation’s people; his approval rating stands at 40 percent. He is a severely dangerous man. World peace can never become a reality if the leaders of nations have no respect for their neighbors.
Many of America’s allies have joined together to seek resolutions recognizing a Palestinian State. The United Nations has allowed the Palestinian flag to be displayed in its chamber. The only two nations who remain opposed to the recognition of Palestine are Israel and the United States. Netanyahu may be the catalyst which removes this close relationship between our two countries. He refuses to listen to other nations, as he continues to allow the construction of new settlements in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The people of the world all want the same thing; a satisfactory life for themselves and their families, an opportunity for education, freedom to practice the religion of their choice, and to live in peace without fear of constant military conflict.
It is the leaders of nations and radicals who seek war. Recent surveys regarding the nations which offer the best quality of life are proof that possible conflict with other nations is the prime reason not to live in those countries. The top five countries are Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, and the Netherlands. The United States was 14th on the list.
Ranking as the worst nations in which to live are Iran, followed by Algeria, Ukraine and Egypt.
With Netanyahu in power, Israel could easily join the bottom four.
