Questions About Ted Cruz and Morality

Donald and Ted

There is no question that Ted Cruz is a moralizing religious anti-gay bigot. This fact alone brings up questions regarding the ‘real Ted Cruz.’ So many times those who speak the loudest about ‘family values,’ and morality, are often in violation of those very attributes.

Here are just a few names of Republicans who presented themselves as moral men, who were eventually exposed as hypocrites.

Bob Barr, Republican Congressman from Georgia, sponsored the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act. He paid for his second wife’s abortion, and was photographed licking whipped cream off of a stripper at his inauguration.

George W. Bush was accused by one woman of rape; she later committed suicide. Another woman claimed she had an affair with our 43rd president which lasted until 1999.

Mark Foley, US Representative from Florida, was accused of sending illicit text messages to 17-year-old boys who were former pages. He was defended by House Speaker Dennis Hastert, who was forced to pay remunerations to a male assault victim just last year.

Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House, received oral sex from a woman while married to his first wife. Later he filed for divorce from one wife, and informed her while she lay dying in a hospital bed from cancer.

Henry Hyde, Republican Congressman from Illinois, and the Judge who oversaw Clinton’s impeachment proceedings, was a loud voice against abortion. He had an affair with a married woman who had three children. The woman and her husband eventually divorced.

These are only a few of dozens of Republicans who speak loudly about morality, but are in fact performing immoral actions. The list will be included in a link. Does anyone remember Mark Sanford; whose hike of the Appalachian Trail was actually a trip to visit his South American consort?

The question today is if any of the story in the National Enquirer true about Cruz having multiple affairs? And if it is or is not, is Donald Trump in any way responsible for leaking it?

It’s true that the Enquirer is a rag of a tabloid, but it was correct with its stories about John Edwards, Tiger Woods, Jesse Jackson, Rush Limbaugh, Mel Gibson, Billy Joel, and the report regarding Bristol Palin’s pregnancy. It is a fact that they have been wrong far more times than they were correct, but it raises questions which deserve answers.

I must say once again that those who speak the loudest are often hiding something. For example, the Mormon state of Utah is number one in the nation in consumption of pornographic material.

Whether it’s true or not, neither Trump nor Cruz can be proud of their campaigns. Most Republican voters have said that they are ashamed of them both.

The one thing neither of them can make claim to is being a Christian. Although it’s impossible to run for election under the Republican banner if you do not make that claim, actions tell the truth.

Trump’s message is filled with hate, racism, and bigotry.

Cruz is judgmental, and denies the right of all Americans to be called ‘God’s children,’ as he spreads hate about the LGBT community, and Muslims. He continually lies, as he panders to voters.

Neither of these failures believes in the Bible and the words of Jesus Christ.
