Since 2013 Democrats and Republicans have agreed on one thing; they hate Ted Cruz. Cruz’ ambitions and lack of experience have been the primary reason why our Democratic Republic has failed, and gridlock has stymied Washington.
But, true to their hypocritical beliefs, the GOP establishment is now supporting Cruz for the party’s nomination, knowing that he would be a horrible president. But can they buy him the nomination? Can they spend enough money on ads to derail Donald Trump?
Somehow, they must convince the 40 percent of Republican voters who support ‘the Donald;’ and I don’t believe that is possible. They have been attempting to derail the Trump phenomena for eight months, and they have merely failed at another effort by the GOP to subvert a political figure.
Thanks to a complete lack of leadership within the ranks of the GOP, Hillary Clinton has only a single challenger for the presidency; Bernie Sanders. Trump or Cruz have only the ability to attack Hillary regarding the same issues they have attempted for the past three years. They are unable to discuss domestic issues, because they remain opposed to the majority of Americans and their needs.
As I write this, the focus of the Republican Party is on Wisconsin’s primary, which will be held one week from Tuesday. If Cruz fails to win this Midwest state, they might as well ‘close up shop;’ Trump will be unbeatable.
A small side note; I had been joking about the NRA issuing guns to the conventioneers in Cleveland on July 18th. You might want to read my article titled “Guns at the Republican Convention: Will my Dream Come True.” As of today, more than 35,000 Republicans have signed a petition, and want an ‘open-carry’ permit inside of Quicken Loans Arena. I’m not sure I would want to allow Trump supporters to have loaded weapons if the Republican establishment denies him the nomination.
