Cruz is full of empty rhetoric, but he has never offered a positive solution to a single problem facing our nation. He attacks Donald Trump for his lack of experience regarding foreign policy and national security, but he is simply talking about himself. Every time he opens his mouth he proves his lack of qualifications to lead our nation.
Cruz has only been consistent in a single action; President Obama is responsible for every bad thing which happens in the world. His latest; the cowardly attacks in Brussels are Mr. Obama’s responsibility.
Cruz has specifically targeted Obama’s plans to allows refugees from war-torn Syria into the United States and has argued that U.S. law enforcement should have more authority to “patrol and secure” Muslim neighborhoods before their residents become radicalized.
“Enough is enough,” Cruz told “Fox News Sunday.” “We need a commander in chief who will protect this nation. … This is a policy of weakness and appeasement.”
His statements were immediately labeled as ridiculous and bigoted by President Obama, military leaders, and leaders in our nation and around the world.
Cruz’ biggest critic instantly became NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton. He defended actions by his department, which has multiple Muslim officers. He said that they will not practice “selective enforcement” based on race or religion.
“Nor will we use the police and an occupying force to intimidate a populace or a religion to appease the provocative chatter of politicians seeking to exploit fear,” he wrote. “We already patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods, the same way we patrol and secure other neighborhoods.”
Some other rash and foolhardy proposals by the TEA Party darling include carpet bombing ISIS strongholds, and sending ground forces to the Middle East.
Military leaders and defense experts state that he is greatly mistaken about both issues.
Carpet bombing would kill thousands of innocent women and children as it did in Vietnam. We would only aid ISIS by once again invading the Middle East. It has been proven that we cannot win a war in the region. The only results would be another regrettable loss of American lives, and an additional economic disaster.
This man cannot be our Commander in Chief. We need a diplomat who has experience and will not make rash and foolish decisions.
