Mitch McConnell is out of his Mind

Dumb and Dumber

I can’t even be nice about this, Mitch McConnell is the worst Senate Majority Leader in history, and, plainly put, a blithering idiot. The ‘great obstructionist’ has once again done nothing for the American people; his only concern is the Republican Party, and he has failed it as well.

The only items he claims to have accomplished are all the attempts of a fool who knew he could not succeed. He is the definition of insanity; ‘doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.’

“[Y]ou know, this has been an incredibly productive new Senate majority. The American people, even though they chose divided government by having a Democrat in the White House and Republican House and Senate, we’re not saying they didn’t want us to do anything. They were saying, ‘Why don’t you look for things you can agree on and do those?’” Really?

This is what McConnell considers success. The Republican-controlled Congress passed the Keystone XL Pipeline; an issue the President promised to veto. The same was true when it attempted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and to defund Planned Parenthood. It passed these measures, knowing they would be rebuffed by Mr. Obama. This is another waste of time and money by the Republican Party.

Of course the latest effort to destroy our government concerns its third branch. McConnell has decided to make the Supreme Court dysfunctional. Maybe he is simply ignorant and fails to understand that the Court is ineffective without all nine members. More likely, he just doesn’t care. Refusing to hold a hearing for President Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland, is a sign of low intellect. It may be a year before the Court is functional if McConnell has his way. The other proof of his ignorance has been discussed frequently. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders would likely nominate a far more progressive justice. I don’t even want to consider who Donald Trump would nominate; possibly Sarah Palin or Ann Coulter? God help us.

McConnell does not have a single accomplishment to his credit. Together, he and John Boehner were the worst leaders in Congressional history, and it’s been worse since Republicans gained control of both houses in 2014.

Because a small group of extremists control the Republican Party, our government will remain broken until Democrats regain control of both houses and one is living in the White House. “Republican” has become a misrepresentation for today’s pretenders, and neither GOP presidential offering is capable of leading our nation.

McConnell must go. If he chooses not to work in Washington, he should go back to Kentucky and play with his guns. Maybe he can find a job in a coal mine.
