A libertarian system of government does not work; that has been proven through attempts in other nations. However, some libertarian principles are the same principles of our founding fathers and must be upheld.
Rand Paul, the junior Senator from Kentucky suspended his presidential campaign months ago. He’s back where he belongs, fighting for the freedom and liberty of the American people on the floor of the Senate.
One of the most important rights the American people possess is guaranteed by the fourth amendment. It is the right to privacy, and unlawful searches and seizures. The Patriot Act has violated that amendment, and very few other Senators than Rand Paul have taken notice.
Paul is a libertarian. His latest battle concerns drone surveillance within our nation’s shores. He has introduced a bipartisan bill restricting drone surveillance.
“The use of drone surveillance may work on the battlefields overseas, but it isn’t well-suited for unrestrained use on the streets in the United States. Congress must be vigilant in providing oversight to the use of this technology and protection for rights of the American people. I will continue the fight to protect and uphold our Fourth Amendment,” said Sen. Paul in a press release.
Our government is attempting to rewrite much of the Constitution, and this must cease. Senator Paul is protecting our fourth amendment rights and must be recognized for his efforts.
Our first, fourteenth, and fifteenth amendments remain in a perilous situation. Voting rights and equal protection for all Americans under the Law of the Land are in jeopardy.
Most politicians are constantly talking about ‘upholding the Constitution,’ but few of them actually believe in that statement. They constantly attempt to bend the wording to satisfy their own ambitions. That is, of course, unless the second amendment is attacked. In that case they protect the gun lobby known as the NRA.
It appears that the bill introduced by Senator Paul will pass in both houses. It is necessary to protect our Constitutional rights.
