“They were unaware of the rules and they didn’t register in time,” Trump said this morning on “Fox and Friends.” “So Eric and Ivanka, I guess, won’t be voting.”

Why is this no surprise; that they ‘were unaware of the rules?’ Like father, like son and daughter. Trump is completely unaware of what is required to represent the United States of America. His rhetoric proves that he would attempt to circumvent the ‘rules’ required of the President of the United States.

Our president must represent all of our nation’s people; he or she cannot be selective. That means that he or she cannot be a racist, bigoted, misogynistic, or favor one religion over another. He or she must listen to the needs and wishes of every citizen and provide solutions, not simply ‘hot air.’

Let’s get back to his kids. Eric and Ivanka are young people who are comfortable with everything being done for them. This does not excuse their responsibility to insure that they were able to vote for their father during a one-time presidential race.

This is a growing problem in America. Our wealthiest citizens are not forced to and do not wish to take responsibility for their own actions or inaction. They expect to live lives of privilege and luxury, and never consider the lives of those who labor in the business they own. They fight against health insurance and an increase in the minimum wage as they experience history changing profits.

Today the American people are suffering because one entire party fails to represent them. The GOP has become the party of special interests, and there is nothing ‘grand’ about that. It fights against every critical issue supported by the majority of our nation’s people, including the environment, income inequality, women’s rights, equal protection under the law, immigration reform, and universal healthcare.

By the way; if you’re wondering about the title, ‘Drumpf’ was Trump’s last name before the family changed it decades ago. But he will always be ‘Donald Drumpf’ to me.
