Sarah Palin has caused as much harm to the Republican brand as any other individual in America. When Donald Trump allowed the half-governor of Alaska to endorse him, he was forced to stand by as she rambled incoherently for 20 minutes. Palin didn’t help Trump’s campaign, she simply embarrassed herself and her former party.
Palin’s rhetoric has consistently been divisive, not only for the Republican Party but for the United States of America. Sometimes I think that it might be a good idea for public figures to take an intelligence quotient test before they are allowed to speak.
So, what’s the latest by the failed and former TEA Party darling? (I did say former, because she now supports Trump, and not Cruz. Palin once again proves that she is nothing but an opportunist.) She was in Washington to promote an anti-science movie, in other words a fairy tale, called “Climate Hustle.”
Someone allowed her to speak her usual form of rubbish; this time supporting Trump and denouncing the Republican establishment. She vowed to lead a revolt if Trump is denied the party’s presidential nomination. The GOP is already fractured, and she wants to shatter it completely.
Palin denounced “arrogant political operatives who underestimate the wisdom of the people.”
Sarah Palin called some Republican party leaders “snakes”, telling the AP, “There are some snakes in there. I’ve had to deal with the political machinery my whole career.”
Her complete ignorance about America’s political system has once again been exposed. It’s not that she is wrong about a failed Republican leadership, but she is proposing a foolish tactic. An intelligent and loyal Republican would attempt to find ways to unite the party instead of permanently destroying it.
Republican leadership has damaged the party, but additional efforts by a nobody in the political arena will not assist in re-unification. An old adage is always accurate; “if you’re not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.”
My advice to Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, and Dick Cheney, is ‘do your party a favor and just shut up.’
