Before I defend my premise about one of the most evil and dangerous men in America, let’s take a look at some of his own words.
“There is no place for gays or atheists in my America. None. Our Constitution makes that clear.” – at Liberty University 3/23/15
“Companies and small business should absolutely not only have the right to turn away gay customers, they should exercise that right. Universal condemnation may convince these people to stop choosing to be gay. – 3/31/15
“When gays stayed hidden we had no mass shootings; we had no public nudity. Society was polite. Now anything and everything goes and I blame them.” – at CPAC, 2014
“If the slaves were never freed in the Civil War, you have to wonder, where would Obama be today? Certainly not the White House, not in the capacity he’s in. And you have some in America that think that might not be a bad thing.” – on Hannity 6/16/14
“The last 24 hours at the United States Supreme Court were among the darkest hours of our nation.” – on June 27, 2015, the day after marriage equality victory
Okay, let’s get to the truth.
Ted Cruz would not represent the American people; he would represent special interests; only those who share his personal beliefs. We had one of those for eight long years; our nation cannot afford another demagogue living in the White House.
Cruz does not believe in the Constitution. He would prevent the LGBT community their 14th amendment rights. This religious extremist would void parts of the first amendment and force all Americans to become Christians.
Cruz has been very vocal about his support of anti-gay laws in multiple states. His beliefs are the beliefs of radical conservatives who would allow religion to destroy Constitutional rights; once again special interests would receive support from the radical right wing.
Cruz wants to control what Americans do in the privacy of their own homes. Contrary to actual Republican principles, he seeks more government control, not less.
When Cruz was a solicitor general for the state of Texas, he helped to write a 76-page legal brief defending a Texas law banning the sale of ‘sex toys.’ An appellate court later overturned the law, but this was Cruz’ opinion: “There is no substantive-due-process right to stimulate one’s genitals,” his legal team argued.
Not only is Cruz unqualified to lead our nation, I believe that he is not a true American. No one who denies the intentions of our founding fathers and their creation of the most sacred document defining our nation, can claim to be a patriot.
I have consistently maintained my belief that, although Donald Trump is a despicable person, Cruz would be a greater danger to our nation than the real estate magnate. Cruz constantly talks about ‘American values,’ values he fails to possess.
The American people must not allow a prejudiced man to live in the White House. Both Trump and Cruz are racist and bigoted, and would deny tens of millions of Americans their basic human rights guaranteed by the Law of the Land. They would increase the spread of fear and hatred across our nation, and America would never become great again.
