Back to the ‘Gold Standard?’ Really Ted?

Donald Jr.

Elected in 2012, Ted Cruz has failed to have one good idea for the future of America. Truth be told, all of his efforts have been destructive to the way of life for the majority of our nation’s people. Agencies which have helped low income and impoverished Americans would be defunded if Cruz held our nation’s highest office. He would weaken social security, reduce Medicare standards, and defund Planned Parenthood.

Economists are blasting his latest bonehead idea; he believes that the United States should revert to the ‘gold standard.’ Really?

No other nation in the world computes the value of a dollar based on the value of gold; but Cruz is obviously not aware of that fact. Gold is a commodity, and its value fluctuates. He would create an unstable financial situation which could destroy businesses, jobs, and increase income inequality.

Cruz believes in a fiscal policy based on austerity. As president, he would follow Republican governors who are greatly damaging their own states financial well-being.

Cruz said the following two debates:

“We had it for about 170 years of our nation’s history, and enjoyed booming economic growth and lower inflation than we have had with the Fed now,” Cruz said. “We need to get back to sound money.”

It appears that Cruz failed his high school economic class.

As economist Matt O’Brien wrote in the Atlantic, it “was a time of more frequent recessions, more protracted recessions, and more severe recessions. In other words, the bad old days.”

Inexperience and a lack of how good government functions are the basic downfalls of Cruz and Trump. Forget all the screaming, posturing, personal attacks, etc., none of that matters, but being qualified to lead our nation is crucial.

President Obama has taken us out of the great recession, as his policies are moving our nation forward. We cannot have a ‘no-nothing,’ whose plans are destructive, destroying our economy once again.

Ted Cruz must go back to school and learn basic economics; our nation cannot survive with ideas which have no basis in fact.
