Mitch McConnell Guarantees the Loss of Hispanic Voters

Dumb and Dumber

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has apparently won a victory for the bigots in Washington, but will guarantee the loss of Hispanics in 2016. Heard today before the eight justices was the Constitutionality of President Obama’s executive action to allow more than four million undocumented immigrants to remain legally in the United States. Those inside the courtroom believe that the case will be split four-to-four, and therefore revert to a lower court’s decision. The Texas court had previously blocked the President’s action.

McConnell’s refusal to hold a hearing regarding the nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court has rendered the Court dysfunctional. Previous cases have also offered a four-to-four decision; some favored lower court’s decisions for Democrats, and some Republicans. This may continue for another year.

Garland is considered a ‘moderate’ by both Democrats and Republicans. It is highly likely that Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders will win the November election. If this is the situation, and either nominates their own candidate for the Court, this person is likely to be far more progressive. It is very possible that Democrats will regain control of the Senate, and approval of the nomination would virtually be guaranteed. This situation is pure idiocy.

McConnell is the primary reason no one works in Washington. He has been the major obstructionist in Congress since 2009. Together, he and John Boehner failed to address the most important issues facing our nation. Oddly, one of McConnell’s greatest detractors can be added to this list; Ted Cruz.

Immediately after he was sworn into office in 2013, Cruz began his destructive efforts. The difference between McConnell and Cruz was intelligence; McConnell has no idea what he is doing, while the actions of Cruz have been intentional.

Our former Democratic Republic failed because all three branches of our government were not working to capacity. Now, thanks to McConnell, we can add the Supreme Court to Congress as non-operational branches of our government.
