Limbaugh said, “The whole point of the us-versus-them battle has been to obliterate the whole notion of morality. Just wipe it out, on the belief that nobody has the right to define it. Nobody can write laws that are based on morality and have them apply to everybody, because your morality may differ from mine, and there isn’t any universal morality; there isn’t any universal right and wrong.”
This was the ignorant response of Rush Limbaugh to the ‘red state’ laws preventing transgendered Americans from using bathrooms which make them feel comfortable. The right wing’s only talents are telling falsehoods and spreading unwarranted fear.
States which have passed these laws claim that they are protecting women of all ages from sexual assault. Once again they offer the American people a blatant lie. Transgendered Americans have never displayed intent to cause harm to others. The legislative bodies in these states are once again leveling attacks against the LGBT community, based on Christian beliefs which are in fact directly opposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Limbaugh told callers that although the majority of Americans support the LGBT community today, if we look to our past, the majority opposed the group.
Once again we hear a conservative extremist attempting to move our nation backwards and undo the progress of the last 60 years.
Fear is the evil which permeates our nation today. The American people have been brainwashed by politicians since September 11, 2001. They tell us to fear terrorists, minorities, Muslims, liberals, and lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transvestites.
When real fear existed, America’s greatest President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, told the people that “all we have to fear, is fear itself.” That should apply today.
Growing up in America, I believed that the most important belief in our nation was ‘freedom and justice for all.’ The word ‘except’ was not added to the Pledge of Allegiance in any manner.
Today the division between our nation’s people is our country’s greatest shame. Americans have been persuaded that the freedom for every citizen to live life as they choose must be eliminated. Far too many of the American people have been brainwashed into believing that only white, Christian men and women are patriots. This is possibly the greatest falsehood ever told by conservatives.
Many of those who wave the flag and raise the cross are in fact un-American. They denounce the Constitution, believing that only a few should be allowed the rights guaranteed by our forefathers. They have removed the meaning of our most sacred document which is inclusive, not selective.
Limbaugh shares the views of Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and the majority of Republicans who constantly display racism and bigotry.
