Why Cruz Would Be Worse for America than Trump

Danger for the US

After what John Boehner said about Ted Cruz, I hope the American People will think carefully about the choices for president offered by the Republican Party. I wrote an article some time ago claiming that Cruz would a worse leader than Trump for the future of our nation.

Trump remains a conundrum. If for some reason the American people became brain dead and elected him as our 45th president, we are uncertain about what he would really attempt to do in the Oval Office. He has been logical in some aspects; the most important of which is his claim that he would work with both parties to solve our nation’s problems. He is now promising to act as a dove instead of a hawk and not rush our nation into another unwinnable war. He has even softened his rhetoric regarding a woman’s right to an abortion.

On the other hand, we have Cruz’ record in the Senate to inform us of his true intentions.

Cruz is the leader of the party of ‘no,’ the TEA Party. His refusal to deliberate issues and find compromise is one of the primary reasons our government is broken. He led the shutdown of our government in 2013, and attempted to do the same last year if his colleagues refused to defund Planned Parenthood. He has openly stated that he would place his belief in Christianity above the United States of America. He has frightened the American people with his attempts to repeal every social program in support of the wealthy class. He believes in failed military practices such as ‘carpet bombing,’ and would take rash action and send our military into harm’s way. This is the Ted Cruz Republican leaders want you to support in order to derail Trump.

Let’s be completely honest here. Neither man is a good choice, but the point of this article is to dispel Cruz’ attempts to make you believe that he would be a better president than Trump. Cruz would be a far worse choice for the American people. He would continue the destruction of the middle class by widening income inequality. He would fight to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and weaken social security and Medicare. Cruz would appoint Supreme Court Justices who would reverse the decision regarding same-sex marriage. All abortions would be illegal under a Cruz Administration, as women would remain second class citizens.

Cruz is an arrogant and egocentric man; he is naïve, but not stupid. He is well aware that his antics in the Senate have made him unpopular with his own party. He also knows that he cannot defeat Trump in the primaries. He is a desperate man.

Yesterday, when he took the unprecedented action of selecting a running mate without receiving the GOP nomination, he revealed just how desperate he has become.

At present Trump is leading Cruz in the delegate rich state of California by more than 17 points. Carly Fiorina once ran for one of California’s seats in the Senate. He is hoping that she will ‘turn the tide.’

Good luck, Teddy, the odds, nor the Gods are in your favor.
