When former Speaker of the House denounced Ted Cruz as “Lucifer in the flesh,” and remarking, “I’ve never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life,” he was only repeating the basics of what he said in the past. Apparently Cruz ignored his former statements and is just now attempting to defend himself.
“If you think John Boehner is the kind of leader you want in the Republican Party, then Donald Trump is your candidate,” Cruz said Friday. “I saw Boehner’s comments. I kind of wondered if Boehner was auditioning to be Donald Trump’s vice president. You know, a Trump-Boehner ticket would really say the Washington cartel in all its force. One has been funding the cartel. The other has been giving in to Democrats for years, which is why Boehner lost his speakership…We need, instead, someone fighting for the people and not for Washington.”
If we analyze Cruz’ statement, it is a historical account of his failures in the Senate. He continuously made attempts to disrupt our government without offering a single positive proposal for the betterment of the American people. When he says ‘giving into Democrats,’ he is reiterating his promise to say ‘no’ to any offering from liberals. His refusal to deliberate or compromise is why our government is broken. His biggest lie is that he would work for the American people. He represents special interests, and has no interest in serving the majority. He serves the NRA, the Koch brothers, and the Christian religious right. A president must represent all of our nation’s people, not just a few.
Cruz is nothing but a hypocritical and desperate man. His failing campaign is sad proof that not even millions of dollars spent on campaign ads by the Republican establishment can save his chances to win the GOP nomination.
An alliance with John Kasich, and now a selection of a running mate, although he has no chance of becoming the party’s candidate, reveal a man who is in denial. Your party and the American people despise you for your past sins. Mr. Cruz, you must face the truth; you are a failure, and choosing another failure as your vice-president simply guarantees your demise in politics.
The truth is that Donald Trump would be a far better presidential candidate than Cruz. He is a despicable human being, but he occasionally offers some common sense in policy statements.
Cruz would destroy all progress made in the last 60 years. He would repeal the Affordable Care Act, social security, Medicare, and force the American people to become Christians. Once social programs are destroyed, he has offered no solutions for their replacement.
It is no surprise that Indiana Governor Mike Pence has endorsed the junior Senator from Texas. He was the first governor to sign anti-gay legislation. Only when American business promised a boycott did he renege and reversed his position in support of religious extremists. Pence is a perfect example of Cruz’ lack of allies in the political arena. Only radicals will support this man, and anyone with common sense will reject him.
