After the Republican Party’s crushing defeat in November, American politics will experience enormous changes; changes which will remove obstructionists and extremists from Congress, and move our nation forward.
After Hillary Clinton’s inauguration on January 20, 2017, the Republican Party will immediately miss Barrack Obama. There will be no more “mister nice guy” leading our nation. She will choose a cabinet based on ability and aggressiveness. If Democrats regain control of the Senate, Ms. Clinton will nominate a very progressive candidate for the empty seat on the Supreme Court; Mitch McConnell will rue the day that he failed to hold hearings for Merrick Garland.
Elizabeth Warren will become the Senate Majority Leader. She will be the exact opposite of McConnell; she will force the Senate to get back to work and revive our dying government. Paul Ryan will lose his initial battle with Ms. Clinton and denounce the “Freedom Caucus,” or whatever they will call themselves next.
President Clinton will be just as hard on her own party. She will demand bills regarding issues discussed during her campaign; tax reform, equality for women in the workplace, and sensible immigration reform.
She will meet with women in Congress from both sides of the aisle and urge them to lead the government and work for the American people. They will lead the old white men in Congress, and work with an urgency not experienced in years.
Ms. Clinton will discuss the situation in the Middle East with our allies and those who are unfriendly. She will demand a larger role by those who are actually affected by ISIS.
Her skills as a diplomat are unquestioned. She will create a firm but fair relationship between herself and Vladimir Putin. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be informed that if he fails to seriously negotiate with Palestinians, the small nation will not receive the latest weaponry developed by the United States.
She will strictly enforce the nuclear agreement with Iran; ‘trust, but verify’ will be her motto.
All this will likely occur before the May flowers bloom in 2017.
Meanwhile, Republicans will have new leadership. Reince Priebus will be forced to resign as the Chairman of the RNC. The GOP will undergo a drastic reformation, and seriously seek leaders in the House and Senate who work for all Americans; not special interests only.
After losing three consecutive general elections, Republicans will be forced to return to the sensible policies of their predecessors. The TEA Party, or Freedom Caucus, whatever the choose to call themselves will lose any power it once had and common sense will return to the floor of the House.
If Republicans fail to learn from the lessons of the past, additional politicians similar to “Trumpenstein” will grow from the ashes. Republican voters will demand representation in Washington who will fight for the principles held in the past by men such as Lincoln, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and George H.W. Bush.
With Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office, our nation will no longer live in fear. It will be led bravely into the 21st century, as our country joins the rest of the world’s developed nations.
Ms. Clinton will work to adopt many of the ideas of rival Bernie Sanders and give hope to our next generation.
This is not meant to demean the accomplishments of President Obama. He was forced to face the ‘party of no’ for eight years, and was still able to take our nation from a recession to fiscal security. He is the reason millions of Americans have healthcare.
Ms. Clinton will continue many of Mr. Obama’s policies, but will be more demanding and aggressive with the members of Congress; she will enter office with far more experience.
Time for our legislators to get back to work.
