Those Attending Donald Trump’s Convention Are Hypocrites

Quicken Loans Arena

This is a direct attack at Republicans who will attend Donald Trump’s convention in July. You can’t have it both ways. Calling Trump unqualified, an embarrassment, and un-American before he became the presumptive nominee, and now supporting the worst candidate ever offered by either party in history, is pure hypocrisy, and an insult to the people of our nation.

Has Trump miraculously become your demagogue, Ronald Reagan? His family denounced “Trumpenstein” long ago. Republican leaders created him, but that does not mean that they must support him; they must continue in their efforts to destroy him for the good of our country.

If Trump is your leader, then the entire party must share his beliefs and lack of principles. The only presidency Trump is qualified to win is that of the Ku Klux Klan; but he may be over-qualified for that position.

It is unimaginable that the Republican establishment spent millions of dollars paying for television ads to denounce Trump, and now will spend millions, if not billions more praising him as the ‘great white hope.’ This proves that the entire party is composed of hypocrites and anti-American men and women. They place the party first, and their country second.

George H.W. Bush was a good president and a fine man; the last leader of the Republican Party who can be praised for his work with both parties during his term as our president. He was the last of principled Republicans who worked within our Democratic Republic for the good of all of our nation’s people. He has stated that he will not attend the convention, and his two sons have followed his lead.

Mitt Romney will abstain from the sordid event, but John McCain, whose campaign slogan in 2008 was “Country First,” will attend. I guess he no longer believes in his own campaign pledge. I suppose it was to be expected; he certainly didn’t place our nation ahead of his ambitions when he selected Sarah Palin as his running mate.

McCain’s ‘partner in crime,’ Lindsey Graham has not revealed his intentions. Of course he once vehemently denounced Ted Cruz, and then supported him in an attempt to end Trump’s bid for the nomination.

I am most disappointed in Rand Paul. Ignoring his ambitions and grandstanding in the Senate, I believed him to have morals. Supporting Trump is in opposition to most of his supposed beliefs.

Those attending Trump’s coronation will be forced to endure loud protests outside of Quicken Loans Arena. Trump has accomplished one thing in the last nine months; he is one of the most hated figures in America. Add that to the evils of the Party itself, disregarding minorities, denying the rights of women, and its homophobia, the crowds will be large and boisterous.

If you are as tired of Republican lies, pandering, and lack of interest in your life as am I, we must let them know that they are soon to be extinct. The GOP can no longer offer us candidates who will fail the majority if elected.

Loyal Republican voters have caused great damage to our nation by voting for candidates who have an “R” next to his or her name, regardless of that individual’s qualifications. I have decided that, although I am an Independent and always vote for the person I believe to be the best candidate, regardless of party affiliation, when I go to the polls this year, I will make it a point not to vote for anyone with an “R” next to their name.
