“Why Can’t Hillary Clinton Lock Up the Nomination?” This was an article in the Atlantic; the link is at the bottom. If anyone has closely followed this campaign season, two things are very evident; Trump won because of failures within Republican leadership; and Bernie Sanders remains relevant because of the issues he supports.
Voters want Senator Sanders to remain in the race and insure that the people will finally be represented in Washington. Simply put; “we want our country back.”
Let’s make one thing completely clear; the voting public does not dislike Hillary Clinton; that opinion comes from Trump supporters, right wing extremists, and the media. The mainstream media is desperate to keep the 2016 campaign interesting. She is a progressive, contrary to reports from the “paid-for” news networks, and has been awarded the title of “Most Admired Woman in America” multiple times.
As for “locking up the nomination,” it’s simple math. Although it is not impossible for Bernie Sanders to win the required number of delegates to receive the Democratic nomination, the odds are extremely high that Hillary will be standing on the convention stage in July, accepting her party’s nomination.
I believe that the media should be honest. Having two strong candidates increases the strength of the Democratic Party. They continue to speak about the issues, while Republicans fight for ‘false unity.’ If Hillary is the nominee, Senator Sanders will encourage his supporters to become ‘fighters for Hillary;’ both agree that Trump must not become the President of the United States.
I beg all of you one thing; stop looking at the polls today. Wait until the conventions are over and the presidential debates begin. Does anyone believe that Trump can win a debate against Clinton or Sanders if it based on the issues and not personal attacks? Trump knows nothing, and in fact is a nobody. He is a charlatan who has been playing a role for the previous nine months. He is not and never will be ‘presidential.’
Only those such as myself, who promise to tell the truth, will keep you informed of the facts. The only other venues to reveal the true character of the candidates are Saturday Night Live, and the late-night talk shows.
The competition between Hillary and Bernie has excited Democratic voters. Bernie Sanders has inspired millennials to come out to his rallies and support him at the polls. The longer they remain focused on the issues, and the crowds continue to be large, the more Democrats hope that this will all carry over to the November election.
The numbers are there for Hillary. If she continues to work hard, and offer a positive message, she will lead the Democratic Party to victory in November.
Trump has yet to convince those in his own party that he is worthy of their vote. I can tell those doubters one truth; he isn’t worth it.
