Republicans continue to talk about the impossible; true unity among all members. They constantly say things such as ‘he’s a good man,’ and he’ll do “what’s right for the party.” They never say “what’s right for the American people,” because they don’t care about our nation.
Make no mistake about it, Donald Trump represents the Republican Party. Donald Trump would be a travesty as the leader of the free world. He is not only completely unqualified, he lacks the intellect and temperament to sit in the Oval Office.
With Trump as their leader, the Republican Party has been exposed as the party of racists, bigots, homophobes, and misogynists. It is controlled by the one-percent such as Trump, and a group of religious extremists who follow a faith based on fantasy. It instructs its members to consider the party first, and the people of our nation become an afterthought.
I am waiting to see if Paul Ryan is a man of integrity, and is a true American, or if he will capitulate in the same manner the cowardly and useless Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, and declare his support for Trump. Ryan is saying all the right things. He continues to denounce Trump’s policies on multiple issues, but actions count, while words mean nothing. As for uniting the Republican Party, Ryan said: “It’s going to take more than a week to repair and unify this party.”
The truth is that it will never again be united. Supporting Trump is political, a declaration that the party is the priority, it does not prove that you believe in him. It is impossible to believe that all Republicans will discard their ethics, principles, and promises to the American people and support the worst candidate ever offered to lead our nation.
Washington is filled with ambitious individuals. What we need are patriots; men and women whose primary concern is the well-being of all of the American people. If the Republican Party continues to represent the one-percent, they must be denied a place in our government. They no longer believe in a Democracy, as they continue to ignore the wishes of the American people.
Because Trump is now the presumptive nominee, he has begun pandering to those who refuse to support him. He has modified his position on several issues.
So, who is the real Donald Trump? Everything we know about him comes from his own actions and history. He is a businessman who has failed as many times as he has succeeded. He loves attention. He is brash, arrogant, braggadocio, and overly sensitive. He has less ability to speak coherently than did George W. Bush. We know that he has no experience in government at any level. His tactics in past Republican events and today are simple and lack substance; he says a lot, offering no solutions, and he attacks those who oppose him in a personal manner.
The world has voiced its opinion of Donald Trump, and it’s not positive. Now it’s up to the voting public of our country to deny him the privilege of living in our nation’s most famous residence.
