What has Texas given the United States? I can only remember George W. Bush, Rick Perry, and Ted Cruz. It has one claim to fame; it executes more inmates than any other state; frequently refusing appeals offered by their legal teams.
Texas is the most racist, bigoted, misogynistic, and homophobic of all 50 states; an achievement which must be applauded because Louisiana continues its dedicated competition.
Republicans in the Texas State Legislature will vote to secede from the United States of America. The truth is that it is doubtful the measure will pass, but conservatives, otherwise known as extremists, will cast their ballots for secession.
“This is pretty big. This is really pretty huge,” Tanya Robertson, a GOP official who has advocated for a secession vote told the Houston Chronicle.
Personally, I believe that eliminating Texas from the United States would be a benefit for our country. The first item which comes to mind is that the Senate would no longer be forced to contend with Ted Cruz. The second situation involves revenue for our nation. The oil Texas produces would become an ‘import for the nation,’ and would be included in those taxes and restrictions.
Texans would be forced to have a passport to travel outside of its borders. All commodities purchased from outside of Texas would become ‘imports.’ Increased taxes and tariffs would bankrupt the small “state” in months. Schools would close without funding from the government of the United States.
The 2010 Census revealed that the federal government gave $94.2 billion in aid to Texas. This is the reason the bill to secede will fail; it’s always about the money.
I am not alone in my dislike of the “Lone Star State.” “You know the good part about all those executions in Texas? Fewer Texans.” George Carlin.
