In America Money is more Important Than the Life of Trayvon Martin

Zimmerman and friend

Would you purchase a weapon known to have killed a teenage boy? Personally, I cannot imagine myself even looking at a gun which fired the lethal round.

This is about a company which conducts auctions. They are in possession of the gun George Zimmerman used to kill Trayvon Martin in 2012. The company is not performing an illegal transaction; it is simply displaying several facts about America’s darker side.

Our nation has lost its moral center. Compassion has been replaced by hatred. Human life has become second to money and profit.

“We are not going to dictate morality to our individuals,” United Gun Group owner Todd Underwood said.

The gun seller will offer the weapon for a minimum bid of $1,000,000, or a “buy it now” price of $500,000. It’s too bad that the Florida judicial system did not believe that Trayvon Martin’s life was worth that much.

These “stand your ground” laws are another example of those in authority maintaining control over the America people with the use of fear tactics. In truth, it gives anyone the right to kill another human being by simply claiming that they were ‘in fear for their life.’

If you have forgotten, George Zimmerman was a ‘rent-a-cop’ who was ordered not to follow Trayvon, and disobeyed orders. The result was an altercation between the young man and Zimmerman. Trayvon was unarmed, but Zimmerman shot him without regard for the teenager’s life.

Zimmerman has since labeled his weapon of mass destruction as “a piece of American history.”

If this is history our people desire to remember, the America in which I was raised no longer exists. Human life was valuable in the past, but is merely collateral damage today. Law enforcement discounts the rights of black men and women all over the nation; choosing to use their lethal weapons instead of proper police procedure. They are seldom punished.

This sale is despicable; and there’s no denying it. The weapon should be destroyed by melting it down and permanently discarded. The very fact that this gun exists is proof that our judicial system needs a complete restoration.

What is more frightening is the fact that someone will purchase Zimmerman’s killing machine. What does this say about America and its people? Have we become so callous and discount the life of another human being, and the effect on his family, friends, and the community. This is the reason the group “Black Lives Matter” has developed into a national movement.

Shame on George Zimmerman, United Gun Group, and the person who purchases this piece of our nation’s evil history.
