For nearly seven decades I have heard complaints about politicians. As I aged, I joined in those complaints. Today I know that many professional politicians are the worst and most immoral people in the world.
What makes this story even sadder is the fact that the mainstream media supports the lies and misdirection of politicians for their own financial gain.
There is little truth on television news. If we combine the half-truths of the media with the negative ads from political groups, we experience a destructive result. The majority of voters cast their ballots based on what they see and hear on television.
Let me give you one example before I continue my rant.
Here in my state of Nevada, both Democrats and Republicans are waging a huge battle for the soon to be vacated seat in the Senate of Harry Reid. The candidates are worlds apart in their philosophies and achievements, but if you believe the television ads, you have no knowledge of the facts.
Let me stop here to explain some of my beliefs. In my seven decades as an American, I have long known that politics is an evil profession, and that professional politicians are a danger to our nation and the world. I abhor the fact that I can use the emotion of hatred to describe them, but the fact that their ambitions are more important than me, my family, my friends, and my fellow Americans is unforgivable.
That said, her is what is happening in my state.
Joe Hecht is the Republican candidate for the Senate. He is a member of the House of Representatives and has one accomplishment in six years; introducing a bill to care for our veterans. That is admirable, but that is all he has done for Nevada and the nation. He was an Army reservist doctor, but that is the extent of his service to the people of my state. When foreclosures began in my state, he labeled it as a “blip.”
His opponent is Catherine Cortez Masto. She served as Nevada’s Attorney General from 2007 until 2015. She was constantly praised by our governor, Republican Brian Sandoval, for her efforts to support the people of my state. Ms. Masto strengthened laws to protect victims of domestic violence; fought for homeowners who suffered fraudulent treatment by the banking industry; and she pushed laws through the legislature to severely punish human traffickers.
Hecht’s campaign is accusing Masto of benefiting from the housing foreclosure rate and is distorting the facts. This is not good politics, this is criminal.
Politicians use emotions to receive votes. Little of what they claim is based on fact. Their intention is to divide our nation’s people. Red and Blue states should not exist; somehow we must return to the United States.
The goal of politicians is to win elections. During campaigns they make promises they never intend to keep. They will serve themselves and their masters when elected, and always place their political party before the American people and the future of our nation.
I’m not blaming vile and ambitious politicians. It is clear that few Americans care about the nation our forefathers created. The proof is demonstrated by the Republican Party standard bearer, Donald Trump. Trump is completely unqualified; he is a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and lacks the intellect and temperament to lead the free world; but he is the leader of the Republican Party.
Time for real change; time for a revolution. The working class must resign from party affiliation and take back their country. Electing a despicable man such as Trump would end the America which raised me.
