Marco Rubio Reminds Us Why He Was Denied the Presidency

National Statuary Hall

For those of you who believed that Marco Rubio disappeared from the political scene after his embarrassing attempt to seek the Republican nomination for the presidency, he has not. However, he is once again proving his ignorance and lack of legitimacy.

Do you remember when he attempted to attack Trump in the same manner Trump belittled Rubio? His failure was futile and only succeeded in making him appear a fool. Then he lost his home state of Florida by 20 points to Trump.

So what is “little Marco” up to now? He is making a fool of himself once again.

This month Florida’s statue of a Confederate General will be removed from the U.S. Capitol’s National Statuary Hall. It will be unrepresented and must find a suitable replacement. Senator Marco Rubio has a suggestion; Tim Tebow. Really?

Tebow is remembered in Florida as a collegiate quarterback who won two national championships and the Heisman Trophy. Is this achievement worthy of placing his stature in our nation’s Capital?

The only other fact about Tebow is that he is a religious extremist. Of course that would make Rubio’s suggestion more understandable.

Although I am a football fanatic, I do not consider those who play the game ‘heroes.’ The National Statuary Hall is intended for American heroes; those who have ‘made a difference’ in our nation’s 240-year history.

As the 2016 campaign season continued, the intellect of then candidate Marco Rubio became questionable. His failure in the “debates” to speak extemporaneously was embarrassing.

Florida is often the butt of jokes by comedians. However, I fail to believe that this laughable state will consider Tebow as their representative in our nation’s Capital.
