It was no surprise that the gun lobby, the NRA, endorsed Donald Trump. His response was also no surprise. Trump is part of the one-percent, and his only concern is to protect his fortune and those who are his real constituents.
Trump’s first lie was pitiful; he claimed that if Hillary Clinton wins the presidency, she will repeal the second amendment. There is no record of her saying anything which could be mistaken to support Trump’s fallacy.
“If she gets to appoint her judges, she will abolish the Second Amendment,” Trump told an enthusiastic crowd. “In my opinion, that’s what she’s going to go for.”
The fact is that Ms. Clinton referred to gun ownership as “part of the fabric of many law-abiding communities.”
This is the truth regarding the Supreme Court. Trump has released a list of eleven possibilities who may receive his nomination if he is elected. This cannot be taken seriously. Each of them is an extremist along the lines of Antonin Scalia. This is a political move which is an obvious attempt to placate “conservatives.” I know that Trump was given this list by an individual who is politically savvy, and that he knows nothing about any of them.
I fear for my nation if Trump comes close to winning in November. This would reveal the attitude of the American people, and that would offer proof that millions of our nation’s citizens no longer believe in my country. If Trump was allowed to appoint another radical to the Supreme Court, true Americans might as well pack their bags and move to Canada. Twelve million undocumented workers, the LGBT community, all minorities, and women will be in danger of actions by red states which will deny their Constitutional rights, and the Court will uphold those laws.
The second amendment will never be in danger of revocation, but the first and fourteenth amendments are. Republicans would repeal them and legislate new amendments which would give voting rights to only white men and women; Christianity would become our nation’s religion; Muslims would be deported; homosexuals would be denied equal protection under the Law of the Land.
It was expected that a billionaire would receive the endorsement of a lobby which represents billionaires. This is the truth about the NRA; it is not interested in ‘gun rights,’ its sole purpose is to increase the profits of gun manufacturers and gun sellers.
Let me end with some facts. I strongly support the Bill of Rights. I also know than our people can no longer accept the fact that 33,000 Americans die from the use of a lethal weapon each year. The fact that the majority of these unforgivable deaths are women and children is despicable.
Trump would not support sensible gun law reforms; Hillary Clinton will. Trump would not support laws punishing adults who allow children access to loaded weapons of mass destruction. Trump is in collusion with the NRA, and believes that every American should be armed.
Trump is out of his mind. Electing him would convert the White House into an insane asylum; and the inmates would be running our nation.
