Jeb Bush Supports the Destruction of My America

The Same

When I think back to some of the most corrupt politicians from the Republican Party, I immediately recall Newt Gingrich, Dennis Hastert, Tom DeLay, Mark Sanford, Bob McDonnell, and Dick Cheney. But many others are corrupt and immoral in more subtle ways. Speaking of them, I can include Rudy Giuliani, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Reince Priebus, and every other hypocrite who denounced Donald Trump but now supports the party first and ignores the future of our nation.

The latest individual who supports the party blindly is Jeb Bush. He claims that Trump’s supporters are not a “a bunch of idiots.” I disagree; anyone who supports a political candidate who denies the Constitutional rights of others and incites violence must not be allowed to obtain political office in our nation; and definitely not the presidency. Those who support him join in his belief of the most foul attitudes in our nation, supporting prejudice, and therefore are indeed “a bunch of idiots.”

“What I fear is that people, kind of looking down their nose, will say the people that are supporting Donald Trump are a bunch of idiots. They’re not. They’re legitimately scared. They’re fearful. They’re not as optimistic for legitimate reasons and there should be respect for that,” Bush said during a speech and panel discussion about American politics, CNN reported. “And on the other side, a similar respect needs to be shown.”

Let’s carefully analyze the failed presidential candidates statement.

First of all, they are not scared; they are angry. Their anger is directed at the Republican establishment. Trumpenstein was created by GOP leadership during the previous seven years. These are men and women who don’t want to ‘Make America Great Again,’ they want to return to a past time when blacks were denied their civil rights; Hispanics were underpaid and unappreciated migrant farm workers; when homosexuals remained ‘in the closet;’ and women were all “June Cleavers.”

One word describes the Republican Party; ‘dishonesty.’ I fail to believe that all Republicans have failed their IQ tests. Some of them must believe in my America; an America I want back.

What happened to John McCain’s campaign slogan in 2008: “Country First?” If he and other turncoat Republicans cared about our country, they could not support Trump.

The United States was founded on personal freedom for everyone. Not a single American was intended to be excluded from equal protection under the law. Our founding fathers escaped religious persecution and created a nation which would offer a new concept; rule by the people for the people.

Our Democratic Republic was simple, and was dependent on the right of every American to cast their ballots for those who would serve them in the new nation’s capital. The electorate would select the best men to represent them in the nation’s government. Those elected would support the ‘will of the people,’ finding ways which would be effective and reflect the needs of the majority.

The GOP no longer believes in that America. Trump displays a tendency towards fascism and autocratic rule.

“Jeb” said during his campaign that he would ‘reinstitute the polices of his brother’s failed administration.’ I am pleased that he was defeated early in the campaign season, but we have been left with someone even more dangerous to the American way of life.

Apparently, there are no honest Republicans left in the GOP.
