Mary Lou Bruner lost a runoff election in Texas Tuesday evening. Supported by the TEA Party, she lost her bid to become one of the top education officials in the state when it dropped their support.
The fact that she had an opportunity to win her bid is a blight on America. Although it’s not unusual to hear about a racist, bigot, and misogynist in the “Lone Star” state, Bruner is so extreme she may be the reincarnation of Eva Braun.
Bruner is a former kindergarten teacher. Although I despise the social media, millions of Americans participate on the site, wasting their time and lives. The worst of Facebook is the fact that uninformed readers believe what they see and hear. Bruner uses the site as a “conservative” weapon.
Bruner labeled the Boy Scouts “a homosexual organization.” She also claimed that President Obama was conducting an investigation about her and her statements. She advocated home schooling because “the only way you can be in control of what they are taught,” and claimed that school shootings across the country had begun “after the schools started teaching evolution.”
One of her early posts offered the reason why President Obama voiced his support for the LGBT community. Bruner said that in his youth, Barrack Obama was a “drug-addicted male prostitute.” But Ms. Bruner claims to be a “good Christian woman,” who has a “close relationship with Jesus Christ.”
Bruner was defeated by a wide margin on Tuesday. Before the runoff, Bruner received 48 percent of Republican votes. Kevin Ellis will be the Republican candidate in the general election and said the following after his resounding victory.
“The voters did their homework,” Mr. Ellis said in a statement as he declared victory.
The Democratic candidate, Amanda M. Rudolph, a professor at Stephen F. Austin State University, is expected to lose in November.
I have no doubt that Bruner is a strong supporter of Ted Cruz. Her views and his have similar contents.
