Division and Upheaval in Donald Trump’s Camp

Ignorance breed ignorance

The media has focused on a non-issue; the extended campaign of Bernie Sanders vs Hillary Clinton. The fact is that this has great similarity to 2008. The real issue remains Donald Trump, the Republican Party, campaign funding, and the nearing chaos within his campaign staff.

Trump is a ‘divider.’ He chooses to create discord within his own staff, while demanding ultimate loyalty. He is contentious towards suggestions made by his own people; the first level of his fascist attitude. He is reluctant to deviate from his chosen path, regardless of advice from upper level campaign staff.

“It is definitely dysfunctional compared to, say, Ace Hardware Store,” said David Carney, a veteran Republican political strategist. But, he added, “it is not fatal in and of itself.”

Is this in fact the truth? If he cannot unite his own staff, how can he unite an entire party? “He’s always the man in charge,” said Edward Rollins, the veteran Republican strategist who is working for a pro-Trump super PAC. “From his people, he gets what he needs. He makes them compete. Sometimes it gets the juices flowing, sometimes it spurs conflict. If he needs to, he steps in to settle it.”

Last week he fired his national political director Rick Wiley, in similar fashion to his actions on his television show “The Apprentice.” For Trump it is “my way, or the highway.”

But his supporters see no problem. The truth is that his campaign staff is filled with followers, not leaders. Trump is always the ultimate authority.

This would not necessarily be a dangerous situation, with the exception of one fact; Trump continually changes his position on the issues. No one knows where the businessman stands on any issue of importance to the American people. Only Trump knows what he believes. It is extremely difficult to work with someone who is constantly in a state of flux.

Now there is a question about campaign funding. Republican insiders have revealed that Trump will no longer use his own finances to support his bid for the presidency. He is now seeking outside contributions from individual donors and the RNC.

After watching Trump for 10 long months, it is obvious that he lives by his emotions, not by intellect. He uses this emotional instability to seduce his supporters, playing upon their weaknesses with misguided anger and hatred.

His numbers in the polls grew based on three “promises” he cannot keep. According to politicians from both sides of the aisle, his “wall” will never be built. Fortunately, although Trump himself has fascist tendencies, any proposal he offers must receive approval from Congress.

He will not deport over eleven million undocumented workers. He will be forced to eventually sign some form of legislation to grant them legal residence. The cost of such an action would equal the nation’s yearly budget.

Barring all Muslims from entering the United States was a farce from the minute the words left his mouth. The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion for all, not only for Christians. Trump’s xenophobia adds to a long list of reasons why he cannot become our nation’s leader.

Trump’s fame is based on two words; “you’re fired.” The American people must fire Trump and save our nation from a travesty.
