McConnell Echoes Republican Lies

McConnell

Republicans hate facts. The truth is harmful to the party whose position on domestic issues is harmful to the majority. Let’s focus on the Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, who will be remembered by historians as the worst leader in American history.

This is McConnell’s most egregious lie. “People are legitimately unhappy. The average person is about $3,000 or $4,000 a year worse off today than when President Obama came to office, [so] you can understand the anxiety and the desire for a kind of quick turnaround.”

The fact is if all factors are considered, the average household income is higher than it was just before the recession. McConnell must admit that the economic downturn was caused by policies instituted by a Republican president.

The national unemployment rate is five percent; about one-half of the number when President Obama took the oath of office in 2009. Unlike McConnell, individuals who actually understand economics have praised the President for the recovery which has occurred in a relatively short period of time.

These same economic experts studied the few details offered by Donald Trump, the Republican standard bearer. His plan would heavily favor the one-percent, and would force our nation into another recession or worse.

McConnell knows nothing, and has done nothing for nearly seven-and-one-half years. He is the leading obstructionist in the Republican Party. In 2009 he proudly stated that his party would do nothing with the exception of insuring that Mr. Obama would be a one-term president. At the beginning of 2016 he once again promised that his party would do nothing until after the November election. This includes conducting hearings to replace the deceased Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.

If he cared about the American people, he would return his salary and surrender his benefits card. I pay him to work for me. If he chooses not to do so, I do not believe that he should receive my tax money.
