FOX Noise’ ‘second banana,’ Sean Hannity offered another blatant lie to the American people on his sad little radio show. He made a claim that Sarah Palin was right about something for the first and last time when she stated that the Affordable Care Act would create “death panels” by forcing elder Americans to wait longer periods for healthcare. Of course he based it on false statistics by using the facts that middle-aged white Americans death rate had risen in the five years since the ACA was passed.
The truth is that this singular group has experienced a rise in its death rate for the last 15 years. Since 1999 middle-aged white Americans have experienced a one-half percent increase in their number of deaths each year. The causes are related to drugs, alcohol, suicide and liver disease.
During this same time period, deaths among black middle-aged Americans declined.
The CDC attributes the increase in the number of deaths by one group to white people being at higher risk of suicide and of death from opioid and prescription painkiller overdose.
I tell you the truth, and I always will. Just once I would like to read a story about a FOX Noise personality who gets the facts right and offers their brainwashed viewers the truth. Unfortunately, I won’t live long enough to see that happen.
The words propaganda and lies are in fact synonymous. FOX is the right wing’s propaganda machine, and no more. It is not a legitimate news service and has been forced to recant more falsehoods from its broadcasts than any other television network in history.
Hannity and his network are two of the prime reasons for the demise of the Republican Party. Extreme talk breeds extreme action. Both Democrats and Republicans have moved further to the right in the last 16 years, but the GOP has moved so far away from center that it has become dysfunctional. They are the reason we have a ‘do nothing’ government and our political system is in shambles. Americans are angry. A lack of effective Republican leadership created “Trumpenstein.”
Among the many subjects frequently repeated on FOX is that Republicans and their agents denounce protests against the establishment. What they are telling the American people is entirely incorrect. Protesting is patriotic. Those who refuse to raise their voice to decry injustice are sheep, not citizens.
The Affordable Care Act has positively affected the lives of millions of Americans. The GOP has attempted to mislead the American people from the day it was proposed. The extremists, such as failed FOX personality Sean Hannity, continue their attempts to destroy a law which has positively affected the lives of millions.
What is now needed is the next step; a single payer program. The ACA is not perfect, and one of its biggest flaws is that far too many insurance companies are involved. The United States needs a program similar to Canada and the United Kingdom. Their system would work here in America.
Of course, I could dream that our nation’s people had a plan similar to the Scandinavian countries; but that is too much to ask.
